Blogging, its been a struggling. Last time I posted was at the end of my time in South Africa, and since then a ton has happened. Here is a brief recap of my life over the last 7 weeks.
- I arrived in the Philippines!!!! The girls on my team and I were in the mountains with 13 other girls, living at a church. We worked in a few schools, helping the kids with homework, painting, and cleaning. We worked with the Pastor to do outreach in the community, and painted most everything on the property.
- Julie Murray was here! We had an opportunity to invite our parents to come see our lives for a week. While my mom was here we partnered with an organization called Wipe Every Tear. We went into bars and talked with the girls who had been trafficked, being bought by men for the night, with no choice. Wipe Every Tear provides these women with a safe home, meals, free tuition, and support for their families. We spent hours in these bars buying girls drinks so we could tell them about freedom. Later that week 22 girls got on a bus and joined us to come see the organization for themselves. FREEDOM WAS FOUND FOR 22 WOMEN.
- We changed ministry sites, and arrived at Children’s Garden of the Philippines, an organization that takes in street boys. I am living in Antipolo City, back with my team, hanging out with 20 teenage boys everyday. We have traveled to the mountains and the beach doing VBS,
- 5 weeks left of my race. 5 weeks until I am home to share the stories of Jesus. 5 weeks, 5 more blogs, I promise.
I miss each and every one of you, truly. This is just a short look into my life, but as I finish the race I want to finish strong by blogging. Youll be hearing more from me soon!!
