My teammates wrote a little bit about me for this weeks blog. Here’s your chance to get to know me a little bit better, or even just see what my team seems to think about me. Check out my teammates blogs as well, they will be sharing stories the next 7 months about our time on the field together and all the Lord is doing.

Matt:
Kara is a fun person to be around. She is always happy and is fun to talk to. Her pronunciations of words can be funny sometimes, such as the way she says Orange (oinge). Kara desires a deeper understanding of the Bible. She wants to be able to understand exactly what God is trying to convey through all the books. She even sought out help from another teammate to help her break down different Bible stories. She wants to know God better.

Zach Yoder:
Kara is always up for spontaneous adventures (like bungee jumping????). She is great at baking cakes but sub-par at icing them. Kara has one of the best sense of humors and her sarcasm always makes me laugh. She is full of wisdom and patience, and she is always calm and steady even in chaotic situations. I appreciate how she is always up for random late night conversations and birthday cake with me.

Alina :
Loves to read license plate numbers/letters out loud, sometimes it causes us to laugh so hard while riding in a trunk of a truck. She also really enjoys using the word “hooligan.” According to her back home I own cows… We both love our virtual physical trainer named Kelly from our workout videos. (Kara is inspired and wants to name her daughter Kelly, because she thinks it’ll make a good “mom name.”)
Every since the first time meeting Kara at training camp I saw the Lord within her. She speaks and prays so boldly and confidently. Since the race started I’ve seen her grow in ministry, specifically woman’s ministry. She truly lights up while talking to and creating relationships with woman, it’s inspiring that she can touch the hearts of so many.
Kara Murray, I am so dang thankful for you

Dakota:
She says orange like “oinge” but she is working on it. She is the only person on the team that has curlier hair than me. She is also super good at praying and I would say she is a really good story teller. She also has a servants heart and is good with kids!

Noah:
Wanna hear something cool about this girl?! She met my mom because of her hair. She is ALWAYS laughing and the laugh is infectious. Be on your guard and ready to combat for quick Witt and wonderful sarcasm which makes her fit so perfectly into this bunch of hooligans we call a team. Kara is the type of person who is always there for for. Whether you need her or not you know that she is there and she has your back. She sees more than she says which is a real mark of wisdom. Truly a blessing.

Zack Thayer:
Kara loves oranges and children’s bible stories. She is very kind and gracious. I’m looking forward to getting to know her more. She will laugh to tears and serve without the need for recognition.

Kate:
FUN FACT! One time when, we found a spider on the wall near kara’s head and as soon as Josie said something, she made this noise that sounded like a car, revving its engine, and got up so fast and ran away. Seriously, Kara has some of the most animated facial expressions of anyone I’ve ever met.
Kara is by far one of my best friends on the race. She makes me laugh so hard, she genuinely cares for people so hard, and she is one of the most wise and intelligent gals I’ve ever known. She pushes our team to do really incredible things for the kingdom of God and she thrives in ministry. Inspiring. Beautiful. FREAKING AMAZING.

Josie:
On our 4th night in Botswana, as I sat at the kitchen table Kara passed me a note asking if I wanted to go watch the stars. So we made tea and wrapped up and headed out to the fire pit. We talked about lessons we had learned on the race, what our plans were when we get back to the US, and somehow eventually how we both wished we had more biblical knowledge. So we rushed back inside and grabbed the children’s bible and crouched between the kitchen sink and the island as I read the short stories and Kara, taking the study time very seriously wrote notes in her journal.
Kara is so so easy to laugh with! She has the funniest facial expressions and says things often before she thinks about them, which leads to lots and lots of laughter and hilarious memories. Whether we are sitting in the back of a car trying to read license plates and pronouncing them completely wrong or laughing too hard to be productive while trying to workout, there’s always smiles and laughter.
