It is travel day! Vietnam to Ethiopia so “hurry up and wait” as we would say because it takes five-ever to get 46 people to another continent.
First things first- no sleep. We started at 1:45AM.
1:45AM Meet in the hotel lobby, bags packed.
2:00Am Come to find out the bus that is booked and paid for cancelled. Have no fear, cabs on the way. (The Lord provides.)
2:10AM How do we pay for said cabs?
2:12AM Chaos- accompanied by awesome logistics and finance coordinator.
2:20AM Find out hotel is going to pay for cabs since they were responsible for bus cancellation.
2:32AM Leave for airport, 7 team members, 7 packs, 7 backpacks, 2 guitars… 1 van (impressive).
3ishAM Arrive at airport and nothing is open… nap time.
4:30AM Logistics wake up call to check in for flight.
4:47AM Time for a snack- feast on some crackers.
5ishAM Pack weighs 20.2 kg- made it! No baggage fee.
5:30AM Assemble in teams for passport control and security checkpoint while contemplating with your team what would be the ideal backpack that wouldn’t hurt to carry around.
6ishAM Security checkpoint- wait for team leader because he accidentally packed his knife in his carry on.
Make jokes with team about the dumb look the security guard gave him when he found the knife
6:15AM Find FREE drinking water in airport (The Lord provides!)
6:28AM Hurry up and wait to board the plane.
6:34AM Pee for the 37th time.
6:25AM Take off!
6:26AM Pass out.
10:10AM Land in Singapore. Dead tired but we get to leave the airport. (YAY)
10:30AM Hurry up and wait to debrief the day with the whole squad.
10:40AM Immigration/ customs
11:14AM Debrief to explore Singapore before flight to Africa.
11:30AM Store our packs at airport.
12ishPM Wander around airport looking for food.
12:56PM Find nandos chicken.
2:40PM Buy metro tickets to a random place for exploring.
3:27PM Second train hop to random location in Singapore.
4ishPM Made it to a park in Singapore- everyone is slowly dying from exhaustion.
5ishPM Found a 7/11.
5:30PM Metro to airport.
6ishPM Somehow score free WiFi from an airport attendant (The Lord provides.)
6:20PM Scope out napping locations.
6:29PM Nap time.
7:45PM McDonalds
8PM Regret McDonalds
9ishPM Grab checked luggage, regret not grabbing a trolley.
9:02PM Almost knock over an airport attendant with my bag.
10:45PM Time to check in.
11PM Regrets that I don’t have socks in my carry on- dismantle entire big pack for a pair.
11:30PM Hurry up and wait just kidding we’re checking in now.
11:45PM Deep conversations about underwear, cleanliness and poop while in line for baggage check.
12AM Some how the only one who had to get my carry on scanned at security

Ethiopia here we come! I am so excited to get to Africa. My team is doing something called Unsung Heroes which means we will be looking for new organizations to partner with throughout the month and being completely open to where the Lord is going to lead and guide us.
