God is for real y’all.

I am so late on the training camp blog train, but only because I can’t process what all happened in those 10 days in training camp.

Imagine getting to go somewhere totally secluded with 50 like-minded believers and being stripped of your every day comforts. Its both amazing and weird all at once. This was a way for everyone to step into true sincerity.

You can’t rely on your looks because you haven’t seen a mirror in 10 days.

You can’t rely on your social media accounts because you don’t have cell phone service.

You can’t rely on your circle because they are back at home.

You can’t rely on your charm because you’re hungry, sweaty and tired.

You can’t rely on your schedule, because you never know what is happening.

You can only rely on your traits and talents that God has gifted you.

I think my main takeaway is that we (maybe it’s just me) don’t give God enough credit for being fully alive and present. What if we only thought of Him as being a comfort or something we have just always known to be there. OR- what if we thought of Him as someone who is always there and fully alive, just hanging out with us throughout the day.

I know I have been guilty of always knowing who God was and taking it for granted- therefore never really expecting him to show up, and being surprised the few times I have consciously seen it.

Someone once told me that nonbelievers use the term “everyday coincidences” for miracles. Meaning miracles happen all day, every day but we are desensitized to notice them or appreciate them. Maybe we just don’t want to look a certain way by proclaiming they are gifts from God so we label them as “coincidences”

Here are a few “coincidences” I saw at training camp.

1. 50 people who fit perfectly puzzled together as a body of Christ

2. A squadmate who had a her jaw radically healed

3. A squadmate who had her leg “magically” grow 3/4 of an inch

4. A squadmate who finally found confidence in the world race

These 4 things are totally those “you had to be there” moments, or just longer stories for a different day. I believe God uses certain times to open your eyes and bring you into a deeper level of faith through miracles. They all become a testament to his glory, carefully placed for you to see.

I pray that God will reveal miracles to our squad for these 11 months so we can grow the faith of people at home through our stories.

Love,

Kamiren of “the dubs.”
