I cannot believe it. I am 100% funded for this missions trip. I have never fundraised for anything in my life, and people have stepped out to provide for this vision of mine.
Please be aware that any donations made from here on out on this blog I will not keep. Anything over my total will go to Adventures in Missions.
Thinking back to September 2016 I remember I was getting coffee with one of my first friends in all of California, Andrea Watson (hey girl hey). I was explaining to her that I pulled my first world race application to submit on a later date so I wouldn’t miss my brother’s wedding, a different story for a different day. She however brought something into perspective for me.
She made me realize how much this is for my family to endure. Not in a bad way. But Trevor is getting married I am leaving for a year, and my dad is going to have a lot on his plate keeping up with the two of us. All good things. She also told me that this isn’t coincidence- all of this change at once. Andrea said to not to think too hard about it, but that I will figure out why this is happening the way that it is and neither of us know right now.
The next week I found out my brother’s wedding photographer had gone on the world race, which served to be an amazing connection with lots of knowledgable tidbits.
And then it happened. I became fully funded at my brother’s wedding.
Before the wedding I needed exactly $2337.
On Saturday early afternoon, my roommate was curling my hair in the kitchen before bridal party pictures (I didn’t pay to get my hair done- missionary problems.) I just checked my phone to find out a friend of ours had donated exactly $1337 which had me in tears knowing I was unbelievably close- only $1000 more. And then on Sunday I checked again when boarding my flight to find an anonymous donation of exactly $1000.
What.
My dad said it was a way of having my mom make sure this weekend was extra special for both of her kids (See Seven year survival blog post if you haven’t yet.) I don’t know who donated the anonymous $1000, and I wish I could write them a thank you note, but this will have to suffice.
Officially funded- thank you to absolutely everyone!
