Often when you think about superheroes and what they wear you might think about capes!! But if you have seen the Incredibles you know that Edna, she does not like capes!!!  If you remember when Mr Incredible says that he wants a cape all she says is “No Capes”. She explains that capes cause way more harm then good and so in turn they lead to disaster!!

Now you might be thinking why is she talking about capes and a cartoon movie??? Well I just finished a book names Love Does by Bob Goff, if you have not read it you really should it is great. In the book there is a chapter on how people need to loose there capes and live as undercover superheroes when they are doing God’s work instead of putting on their I am doing God’s work cape!!

This really got me thinking about my journey on the World Race!!  The World Race has been an amazing journey so far with a lot of fun adventures, many ministery opportunities, laughs, tons of pictures and so many new friends!!!

But often something  that is not shared is that the World Race is not always easy, it  is stretching both physically and spirituality, it is uncomfortable, sometimes it is not fun, you miss you your “normal life”, and it just HARD!!!

I am writing this to be real about my journey and to show that we are not wearing capes!! Sometimes through pictures, blogs and videos it might look like World Racers are such great superheroes for God!! But in reality what you are seeing in not even an 1/8 of the live we are living!!

Some months we do feel like superheroes, we are going around and sharing about God’s love and it is fully excepted, we are helping people, taking great pictures, and it is just going great. Those months are amazing and I have for sure had some of those months, or parts of months.

But then on the other side sometimes it is not as magical!! It is frustrating when you go to share the gospel and you are shut down by the people you are talking to, or you can not express what you are really trying to say because you do not speak the language. Sometimes it feels like you are not getting anywhere and you might even be thinking why am I here??? How am I going to share this experience with people back home if I don’t even know what I am doing here!! I can show cute pictures but what am I actually doing for God??

Well let me reveal to you that everyday we have the choice to put on a cape to be a superhero for God!! But we get the choice how we wear it, are you wearing it over your clothes so everyone can see that you are trying to “save the world”. Or you can wear it under all of your clothes so that only you and God knows that it is on!!

When Jesus was on the earth he would perform healings and miracles and then would tell them not to tell anyone!! Jesus was wearing his cape under his clothes and he was doing what he was called to do with out looking for fame. He just wanted to do what God had told him to do.

Now I wrote this blog to share that everything that we share on blogs is how God is working in our lives while on the World Race. But it is not to show our capes of to the World. Our capes are the first things that we put on everyday and no one can see them or know that they are on except for you and God!!

So I challenge you when you are doing your life to see where your cape is?? Is it on the top of your clothes that everyone can see that you are a superhero or was it the first thing that you put on for the day that no one can see. Are you dining something to get the fame and glory or are you doing that thing to give the glory to the one the deserves all of the Glory!!

We leave for Ghana in just 2 Days!! This month went by crazy fast and it has been amazing!!! Here are a few pictures of some of the month and be in the look out for my Côte d’Ivoire Video that is coming soon!!!
