In El Salvador Learning English is a privilege that many people do not get the opportunity to do. There are many reasons that this is but one of the biggest the price!! Some English classes are as much as $57 a month plus all an extra $43 for books every month as well!!
Now in the United States that might not sound like a large amount of money but for El Salvador that is a huge chunk of money!!!
But there is a program that is $20 a month that includes books!! And many people travel from all around to learn English and this is the place that Meria goes to learn English.
The past two week we have been helping at English class on Wednesdays and we have just been having conversations with the students for them to practice there English!!!
This past week I went and worked with a young lady named Jessica!!! Jessica is 21 and she is leaning English so that she can get a better job!!
Jessica said that she loves when she can talk to us because she can really lean how to listen to English and talk back in English!! Jessica asked question that surprised me because she really wanted to get to know me on a deep level and it was more than just superficial questions!
One of the most powerful that she asked me was what was my biggest dream!!! I was first taken aback because I did not think that she would be asking about that but when I answered I could see that she was truly interested in everything that I was saying!!!
Jessica is someone that did something so little that made a huge difference in my life because she really asked deep questions and actually listened to the answer!!!! She was so happy and joyful and all when the class was over both of us were upset that our conversation has to end!!
Though Jessica I can see God!! I see God by the way Jessica asks questions and also how she listens!! It shows me that God wants me to ask him questions and that when he asks me questions that when I answer he will listen intensely!!!
