What are you living for??

This is what God put on my heart a few weeks ago!! This took me aback because this is not something I had thought about before. When I stared to think about what God had said to me, I found that there are three separate ways that you can live your life. The first is when you are totally focused on the Future and what is going to happen in a few hours, next week and year. The second is when you are stuck in the past and what happened yesterday. The third is that you are living fully for today!!

Now I am writing this because this is often something I struggle with. The thoughts of what am I doing tomorrow, next week, month and year are always running though my head. But I often forget about what is going on today. This was eye opening because I realized that when you are not living for today that you are missing out on so many things that God has placed in your path. God showed me that I need to let the future go and focus on what he has planned for today and that I should be fully living for the day and not worry about the future.

God showed me how to do this at Training Camp in many ways. During training camp, we were not provided with the schedule and, we were challenged to not use our phones. This was the most freeing feeling that I have ever experienced. It was great because I did not know what was going to happen next or what was happening at home. All I had to focus on was what was going on at that moment. This meant that I could be fully present throughout training camp with everything that God was doing. I truly learned what it meant to be fully engaged in every activity and why this is so important.

Though out my World Race Adventure I will be living for the day and living fully engaged in everything that I will be doing. I will not be focusing on the next day, week, month or when I am returning to the US. I will be living for the day and really focusing on what God is doing and who I am going to meet and interact with that day.

You might be wondering, “So why is she telling us this and writing a blog about it?”. Well I know that I am not the only person that struggles with planning and knowing what I am living for. So, I have a challenge for you!! I challenge you to think about how you are living your life and what you are living your life for?? Are you only focused on the future? Are you stuck in the Past? Or are you living for today in everything that you do!! I challenge you to just live your life and not focus on every little detail about your day! I challenge you to be fully engaged when you are walking down the street, though a store, and everywhere else and just remember that a smile can change someone else’s day!! SO, GET OFF YOUR PHONE AND LOOK AT PEOPLE AS PEOPLE, SAY HELLO AND SMILE!! You never know what relationships could come from this and how you could change someone’s day!! I am so excited to share this adventure with all of you but I also am excited to see how God is going to work in your lives over the next year as well.

I will be traveling to Atlanta in ONE MONTH for launch!! This is where I will be reunited with my team and go through a little more training and then traveling to El Salvador at the beginning of August.
