First off, HUGE THANK YOU to my squadmate, Kelsay Singleton for crafting up this blog post (and the beautiful image to go with it!) that I have been dreading posting.
I hate money, y’all. I mean I really do. And you know what I hate more than that? Asking for it. I’m an independent woman and I’m pretty proud of that. Maybe too proud sometimes. So this is hard. Fundraising is hard. Because I need your help.
I need you guys now. Financially, spiritually, emotionally.. And it’s been a while since I’ve really needed all of those things from someone.
So yea, this is hard.
I want you to have complete transparency from me about your donations.
Let me explain to you how much I need, by when, and where it will all go:
$5,000 due October 17th
$10,000 due December 12th
$13,000 due February 28th
$16,617 due April 30th
Expenses that are not covered in the $16,617 include:
travel to and from training camp, travel to launch, travel from our last U.S. destination, vaccinations, malaria pills, and required gear (backpacks, tent, sleeping bag, headlamp, etc.)
Here is how the money breaks down:

So where am I now?
$2,285 (not all of it shows because it takes the system a few days to process) of $16,617 raised (13.75% funded)
>>>>To attend training camp and continue on the race, I have to raise $5,000 by October 17th<<<<
Honestly, I’m pretty proud of that 13.75%. We got there in just 2 weeks! But I have a long way to go.
