Come and hear, all you who fear God;

    let me tell you what he has done for me.

Psalm 66:16

Testify. Our new team name. Our motto. Our vision. There is nothing like the power of testimony to share God’s love, provision, power and plan. Our stories and experiences not only shape us as individuals but also can be used to impact others around us.

Testimonies can be life stories, specific instances, a past struggle, a past win or something you are currently walking through. They are meant to encourage, guide, instruct and provide insight for others. They are proof of God’s love and presence in our lives as they bring to light similar struggles, experiences, thoughts and emotions. The power of our stories is incredible and meant to be shared.

Therefore encourage one another and build each other up, just as in fact you are doing.

1 Thessalonians 5:11

These last two months (ah, no! Time is going too fast!) Team Testify is coming together as six strong ladies and empowering each other to be that woman of God He has called us to be. We are using our voices to share all the great things God has taught us, shown us and what He is currently walking us through. I am committed to reaching a whole new level of vulnerability with my sisters. I am asking God for risk and the occasional fail so I can only grow stronger in this safe environment.  I am asking Him to reveal the trash in the depths of my heart so I can clear out the clutter that is preventing me from experiencing true intimacy with my Father. I know my sisters will come alongside me and be that encouragement and support where only fruit can grow.

 And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds, not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another—and all the more as you see the Day approaching.

Hebrews 10:24-25

Challenge: Ask someone their story. Share a struggle with a friend; you may be surprised at their response. Maybe they have gone through something similar; maybe they thought they were alone in those feelings/thoughts/experience. The enemy’s first line of defense is silence and loneliness…don’t let them have a hold of your voice!

Fun Fact: Penang, our home for the month, is actually on an island off the mainland of Malaysia. It is a beautiful city with melting pot of people. The city is full of migrants who have moved here to create a life for themselves in this developed and thriving country. From backpackers to Indians in “Little India” we get to meet them all! It is also a breath of fresh air as 50% of people know English.
