Know Him, Really KNOW Him; not just ABOUT Him.

These words were spoken over me a few days ago by a fellow sister in Christ I met here in beautiful Nepal. She was such an encouragement with the life she spoke over me.

Be completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love. Make every effort to keep the unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace.
Ephesians 4:2-3

Here I was out trying to find ministry, searching out a way to share God’s love, and I ended up being poured into. God used my new friend to remind me of how He just wants to be known by His children.

My abba, Father in heaven, doesn’t want us to just know about Him but really KNOW Him. Like a mother knows her child; that deep, intimate relationship is what God desires.

Her words resonated with me so much as it is exactly what God has been revealing to me all month. I have experienced a whole new level of communication and communion with my papa. This deeper intimacy with the Lord comes from having to put my complete trust in Him.

May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.

Romans 15:13

I have had more time to learn through podcasts, sermons, and studying my Bible this month which has been great as I have been discovering great lessons and truths. However, her words reminded me while all this is knowledge is good and pleasing to God, what He really desires more is a relationship with me. It’s me crying out when I’m sad, frustrated, scared or anxious. It’s me celebrating successes with Him and sharing my joyous emotions. It’s praising Him for His provision and also praising Him in the trials as well. He is the one who will always understand, comfort and be available. He desires to know the real, raw me and I’m so grateful for a Father who not just accepts every side but loves every part of what makes me who I am.

Oh Lord, you have searched me and known me!
You know when I sit down and when I rise up;
you discern my thoughts from afar.
You search out my path and my lying down and are acquainted with all my ways.
Even before a word is on my tongue, behold, O Lord, you know it altogether…
Psalm 139: 1-4

Fun Fact experience today!

Got served a traditional Nepali meal today by our friend Dipu! He invited us over and his mom prepared a feast! Chicken curry on rice, sides of spinach, dahl (lentil soup you pour over the rice), and some vegetable/potato salad with tons of spices. We cleared out our sinuses.
