Comparison is a deadly road to go down. It not only destroys your growth and leads to jealously and feeling inadequate. It snuck in my heart a bit the past few days while being in this huge house with my 25 brothers and sisters.

I was super excited to be reunited with my squad this past weekend but also feeling a bit nervous. 25 brothers and sisters around the dinner table, 25 friends to play games, 25 bodies needing the showers, 25 bus passes needed to get to town, 25 extra minutes for everything, 25 toothbrushes scattered by the sinks, 25 pairs of ears to listen to your successes and struggles, 25 voices praising our Papa. Living in a big community can have struggles but I quickly realized that this community is special and I am so blessed to have these great people around me for the next month. That fear of being lost in the crowd was quickly shot down as I realized my squad is only more support, more encouragement and more love I get to experience everyday this month!

We verbalized our fears and struggles, becoming vulnerable right from the beginning, which showed how we all have fears and struggles in different areas. We need to come alongside one another and be aware of them to help us better work together through them to make the squad strong.

I was given great advice encouragement to realize my relationship is unique and special, between God and I. He talks with me in a special way and has a distinct plan for my life. There is no room for comparison; it just gives the devil a foothold. I have a special and unique relationship with the Lord and He meets me where I am at and enjoys who I am. His daughter.

So my declaration from Ephesians 1:18:

I pray that the eyes of my heart may be enlightened in order that I may know the hope to which you have called me.

I love how the message interprets this verse as “make me intelligent and discerning in knowing I can see exactly what it is you are calling me to do.” With the support of my team, I am working on being myself and being strong in the gifts God has designed just for me. God will reveal to me His plans in His timing and will show me how I can best work in my team.

“The Lord gives strength to his peace; the Lord blesses his people with peace.”
