Kicking off our travels World Race style! We are going to have many long days/nights in the airport, on the bus maybe even an elephant? Traveling in a large group brings different challenges and just takes 4x’s the amount of time to get anywhere, go through lines and pile in whatever mode of transportation we are using, not to mention our huge packs we are lugging around with us as well. Therefore, we left at 1:30am this morning and are currently chilling in the Atlanta airport, which I found out does not close, waiting to check in and depart!
There is sounds of the floor cleaner humming in the background of the chatter of teammates. Other people having the same idea to grab a bench to call bed for the night. I don’t know if I’ll get to shut my eyes here…the air conditioning is like the arctic blast you get in your face when opening a door to the outside in the dead of a Michigan winter…can you tell I don’t like air conditioning (my route around the equator seems to be a good fit)?
Even though the above conditions don’t sound ideal I have this overwhelming sense of peace thinking about what’s ahead.
Encouragement I received as I embark:
Commit to the Lord whatever you do,
and he will establish your plans.
Proverbs 16:3
