March 1 was the day they arrived

From Africa, they were so tired

They rested and then they were full of joy

Monday they came and offered us their friendship

What good friends they are

We played basketball without rest

Until our bones hurt we played

We also played soccer together

I just hope they do well in their next steps

From your friend that you see here

This song is a reminder of the good memories we have together

This is not a goodbye its a see you later

Because we will see you again soon

And God will always take care of you and he will never forget

God has you in his glory

They gave us advice and taught us to be humble

I’m so grateful for the moments we shared

They encouraged us and we helped them with their Spanish

They are all like brothers and sisters

It’s so sad to say goodbye to people you love

People that God put in your life

But we will see you again

This is not a goodbye, it’s a see you later

This is the rap the boys prepared for us on our last day with them. They are extremely talented and this month was a hard goodbye (“see you later!”).

Our host asked us to not share pictures or videos of their faces to protect their identity.

Huge thank you to my Costa Rican squad mate and friend, Andre Gonzalez Vargas, for translating this to English for me!
