Route Change!!! The exciting (and dreadful) messages you get from your mobilizer!

Here’s some news we received last week: due to security/safety concerns, we’ve been pulled out of Madagascar and placed into Namibia for month 9; and in order to most effectively assist our ministry hosts and needs with the limited time we have, we will no longer be headed to Jamaica in month 10, but instead heading to Haiti.

While at first we both kinda thought this plain stunk, we have taken a step back and decided to be thankful. We are thankful that we serve a God who is not caught off guard; He knew these changes long before we did. And we are so thankful to be partnered with a mission agency that is consistently taking into consideration not only our safety (moms breathe a sigh of relief), but they’re also trying to ensure that we are sent to places where we can be effectively used! While we are still slightly bummed that we won’t be serving and seeing Madagascar and Jamaica, we have such a peace that the Lord has big and mighty plans for us in Namibia and Haiti!

Here’s a glimpse at what we’re told about Namibia:

Known for it’s vast Namib desert, it’s the driest African country south of the equator. The physical climate, however, does not match the spiritual climate of the country as 92% of the population is Christian. A national prayer movement is sweeping the country and missions are experiencing a time of growth. But there is still much to be reconciled. Because Namibia was formerly occupied by South Africa under apartheid, forgiveness is still needed in the nation. Whether you visit Namibia to join it’s spiritual movement or to help to heal the wounds of apartheid, you can expect God to move in Namibia.

And here’s what we’ve been told about Haiti:

Haiti was hit with a life-altering earthquake on January 12, 2010. The nation’s still in shambles, but the church is rising up. Haiti is experiencing a spiritual revival right now like it has never seen before. Communities are turning to pastors for leadership, and the local church is becoming the driving force behind Haiti’s ongoing rebirth. Be part of this key moment in Haiti’s history and the church’s impact on this nation. Come ready to serve and ready to be blessed.

SEE! There’s so much to be excited about!!!
