Hey y’all! It’s hard to believe that we’ve been accepted to The World Race for over a month now! We’ve been working diligently towards developing some great fundraisers throughout the next 10 months to help us meet our goal of being fully funded before we leave in August.  Here’s a rundown of events, activities, and opportunities for you to prayerfully consider participating in:

October

1st-2nd: This past weekend we had a vendor tent at the Holy Family Seafood Festival in Pass Christian where we launched our new t-shirt designs, Barrier Island Tees and Mustard Seed Shirts.  These fun designs express a little bit of ourselves through t-shirt lines to try and raise funds toward our Race.  Visit us at Barrier Island Tees Facebook Page and Mustard Seed Shirts Facebook Page where you can find links to online shopping!

29th: We’re hosting a Murder Mystery Party! For more information, please feel free to click on the “Contact Me” section of this page to send us a message.

November

5th-19th: Help yourself out (and us too!) this Thanksgiving by buying some homemade pies.  We will taking pre-orders the 4th-18th for a variety of pies to be delivered the week of Thanksgiving.  More information on this coming soon! (So don’t forget to hit the “Subscribe For Updates” button above to get notified of updates)

Also, we will be selling coffee starting in November through the next several months.  A generous portion of each bag of coffee sold will be donated to our trip, so if you’re a coffee drinker (or know someone who is), stay tuned for the website soon.

December

2nd: We are hoping to have a booth setup selling Mustard Seed Shirts and Barrier Island Tee’s at Christmas in the Pass.

January

We will be launching our “Sponsor a Day” campaign as well as “Adopt a Country” drive.  You’ll be able to sponsor us on a specific day while we are on the field, and we’ll share our specifics with you on that day such as our journal entries and photos.  This is a great idea for birthdays, anniversaries, or any other special days to you.  We’ll also be putting a new spin on piggy banks with our adopting a country opportunity.  This will be an easy and fun way to help out as a family or small group by simply collection your spare change and praying over our time in a country of your choice.

Tentative Plans for February-July

-Crawfish Boil (tentatively May-June timeframe)

-Garage Sale (tentatively in March): If you have any items that you would like to donate towards our garage sale, please let us know and would love to take them!

-Silent Auction & Dinner Around the World (tentatively in April): We have already begun our collection of items for a silent auction.  If you have anything you would like to donate, or know of any local businesses or artists who would consider donating, please let us know.  This event has the potential to be a phenomenal one, but we know it will take a bit of work and a lot of support from our local community.

Other Ways to Contribute

We have set up an Amazon wish list that has some of the gear we will need as we have had some people inquire about gifting something rather than donating money.  Any help is truly appreciated and is such a blessing!  This list will continue to be updated as we are able to try different pieces of gear (especially after a trip to REI in Dallas on our way home from Thanksgiving).  Carothers’ World Race Amazon Wish List

Donation of items to our garage sale and/or silent auction are ways that don’t necessarily cost anything!

And finally, you can always give online through the “Donate!” button at the top of our blog or set up a monthly donation.

We are so extremely thankful for all of the support we’ve been given thus far, and we know that God has big things in store!

Blessings to all of you,

Jonathan and Devon
