1.) It’s more than just a walk!

It is a Christian Pilgrimage, it’s not your typical through-hike. If you can even call it that.

2.) Pack as light as you can

The more weight you carry the more your legs will hate you.

3.) Be ready to meet people from all over the world

This was amazing to do! I meet people from Germany, New Zealand, Australia, Canada, and evens people from the USA.

4.) Embrace the Silence

This was probably the greatest thing I did on the Camino! In the silence you can listen to the voice of God and just see what He has for you.

5.) Enjoy the beauty

Oh the views, from the Pyrenees to Santiago are breathtaking. It’s easy to get lost on God’s creation.

6.) Make sure to have dinner with others in the Albergues

This was a blast cooking for others and enjoying their company over some spaghetti or what ever kind of dish.

7.) Plan for aches and pain

They will happen! My leg is still barking at me a little bit.

8.) Listen well, everyone has a reason for walking

Hearing why people our on the Camino is amazing. Some are searching for anything and some just have always wanted to do it.

9.) Encourage others

It’s easy to get caught up in the aches and pains, but to help someone and encourage them to keep on walking is something you won’t forget.

10.) Learn about the history of the Camino

The Camino is rich of history. To not know about it while on the Camino seems to be a wasted opportunity to learn and appreciate all that have walked it before.
