As I am wrapping up my time in Paris, here are just 10 things that have surprised me about this wonderful city. We are heading to Spain to walk the Camino de Santiago, a pilgrimage full of people searching for something greater. Please be in prayer for us as we have an amazing opportunity to minister to others as we are on this trek.

1.) The people of Paris are not as rude as you might hear in America.

2.) Cafes/Bars are everywhere. You cannot walk down the street without seeing on of these shops.

3.) The sanitation workers in Paris clean the streets all the time. I swear they are always cleaning the sidewalk and streets. Though it doesn’t seem to help.

4.) The coffee in the cafes are amazing! Better than anything I’ve had in the states.

5.) Bread, on bread, on bread. They sure do like their bread and pastries.

6.) The French are deeply caring. As we’ve worked with the refugees it wasn’t uncommon to see people dropping off clothes and food for the refugees.

7.) It’s not uncommon to see people openly drinking on the streets or in a park. This was definitely weird to see at first.

8.) Paris is a huge city full of diversity and character. Especially the 18th district, where we stayed.

9.) The Metro system is amazing and not too hard to navigate.

10.) Their is a hunger heart to know more about God. Some are very closed off to the word, but that is far outweighed by the people who want to know more about Christ and His work on the cross.

One more thing, continue to pray for the Lord to guide us as we go about our ministry.

I still have about a $1,000 left to raise until my next goal of $13,000 on September 30th. If you feel led you can click the donate button on the top right.

With love,
Jacob
