“So let my life be the proof,
The proof of your love
Let my love look like You and what You’re made of
How You lived, how You died
Love is sacrifice
So let my life be the proof,
The proof of Your love.”

For King and Country: The Proof of Your Love

This is one of my favorite songs from one of my favorite bands. If you have never heard it, you should definitely look it up on YouTube. This song is also a great starting point for my story. For a few years now, I have danced with a ballet group called Christ In The Arts. At CITA, we use movement and music to convey a message. Each performance is different from the last, but every performance is focused around God and his love for us. Because of the Christ centered mentality, I have made many unbreakable bonds with the people there. We are family.

As I was walking around my house and talking to God, he showed me something. Even though I have been dancing for over three years, I am extremely uncoordinated. Graceful is most certainly not my middle name. My friends at CITA however, do not care. They accept and love me deeply, even though they are amazing dancers that take your breath away when you watch them dance, while I’m in the back, trying to keep up. God showed me that this is like his relationship with us. God is literally perfect in every way. I am literally imperfect in every way. God doesn’t care. He sees our imperfection, and just like Mrs. Katrina telling me to keep my arms up, he guides us to fix it. God cares and loves for us so much that he not only tells us he loves us, he uses our very lives to show it.

Lord, Let my life be the proof of your love. Amen.
