Hello friends, I am finally back to blogging! Yes, this update is a few weeks… or months, late, but everyone who knows me knows that I am a procrastinator. In my defense, I have been doing quite a bit of running around lately. For example, over the past two weeks, I have been at World Race training camp. It was quite the experience. From massive rainstorms to tents getting killed in action, it was a very educational week. I got to meet the wonderful people who I will be spending almost a year of my life with, and I learned more of what being on the field will look like. My journey will start in the massively populated country of India. We will be in Ongle, India, for most of, if not the entire, month. Our squad is planning to work with a local contact in the city. We will be doing a wide variety of ministry including, but not limited to, volunteering at orphanages, preaching at churches, and just getting to know the locals. As experience has taught me, plans on the mission field are always subject to change. The team does not have much control over what we do for ministry. Our local host will decide what he or she thinks is the best place to use us. I tend to forget that I’m not in control. It is all up to God. He will use us when and where we are needed. I would like to ask for prayers on behalf of our team, our host, and the people of India themselves. If someone asked me what I will be doing overseas, I could honestly say that I am doing nothing. I am letting God do things through me. That is the only way we can be effective as missionaries. We have to let God take care of everything.
Bonus: I will give a huge high-five to anyone who noticed my quote from The Lego Movie in my post. It’s in there, I promise.
