This month we are in Remera, Rwanda, and our ministry has me stretching in all kinds of ways. Our days are full! We start the day off with half of our team
teaching English to the community, and the other half are doing door to door evangelism. In the evenings we have night church where we sing and preach, and then we have church twice on Sundays. This past week, I did door to door evangelism. I was so nervous, but I just made sure to get my mind right by praying for boldness and for the Holy Spirit to speak through me.
Last week I experienced some of my favorite days of ministry. I was invited into several people’s homes and just got to get to know them and pray for them. Most people we spoke to were Christians who needed prayer and wanted to hear more of the Word. We got to speak into their situation and encourage them with scripture. We stressed the importance of spending time in the Word, explaining that the more we read, the more you have understanding of who God is and who He created you to be. The more we read, the more understanding, wisdom, and knowledge are poured into us by the Father.
By talking to many people, we realized that there are many Christians who don’t have bibles. We were able to pull together some money to buy some bibles to hand out to
some of our friends in the community. I gave a few out in the street and some people came around me to get one. One young man explained to me that he loved Jesus and wanted to know more, but he didn’t have a bible. I reached in my bag and pulled one out for him, and he literally gasped and threw his arms around me, thanking me so much for giving him a bible. I have never seen someone have so much joy, because they just received a bible. That was one of my favorite moments on the race. Honestly, if more people understood the depth of the Word, how powerful it is, it being like a double edged sword and all, and believed all the promises God made to us as heirs to the throne, people would be more excited to read it like this man.
One of my favorite days of ministry were when we went into the market. I went with two of my teammates and two translators. When we got there, the owner didn’t want
us to be there, because we were distracting his workers from getting their jobs done. One of our translators, Hope, who I’m loovviinnngggg (She tells me, “India, I’m loving you” as she gives me a hug), pulled me from the group and told me to just start talking to one person, but speak loudly so that people can hear. She was like, “Ok go! Start preaching!”
So here’s the thing. I was counting on my teammates to do that and for me to stand back and intercede. Daniel had preached the day before, so I knew he was comfortable to do it again. I was looking around for my teammates, and they were on the other side of the market talking to people, and I felt like I needed them to be with me or to even do it for me. I told Hope that I was scared, and I didn’t even know how to begin. We were both laughing, and she said start with hello and your name. So I
just started praying out loud and again saying to the Lord that He doesn’t give me a spirit of timidity but of power, love, and a sound mind. And then I started.
I introduced myself, and I started to tell people about Jesus. I explained how God created Adam and Eve and how they committed the first sin, and that’s how sin entered this world. I explained that this sin created a division between us and God. I explained how before Jesus, we would have to go to the high priest, and he would
have to offer up blood sacrifices on our behalf to be in right standing with God. I explained that no matter what we did, it was near impossible for us to uphold the
law. Then, I explained John 3:16.
“For God so loved the world, that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life.”
I explained that Jesus was the ultimate sacrifice and that He is the bridge between us and the Father. I let them know that when you accept Jesus in your heart, all of our past, present, and future sins are forgiven and that He can’t wait to have a relationship with us. I told them that Jesus’ death on the cross tore the veil, so now we don’t have to get to God through a high priest, but we could go directly to The Lord in person. We no longer have to hide our faces. I explained that when you accept Jesus into your heart, there is nothing we can do to fall out of God’s love. There is nothing we can do to make Him love us any more or any less than He does right now.

Yeah, it was lit. Not only did I have a crowd of people listening where seeds were being planted to people who had never heard of Jesus, Musims included, but two
women accepted Christ right then and there. I couldn’t believe it!! I was like, “Really?! You do?!!” I had all the goosebumps and had to keep from sobbing right there!
Because I allowed the Lord to use me in that moment and not allow fear to take over, two women were added to the kingdom. We got their names and information,
so that our ministry could keep in contact and disciple them, and so that they could come to church later and get their bible.
Lord, thank you for choosing me to travel to the ends of the earth to tell people about you. Thank you for deeming me fit to be used. Thank you for the opportunity to
be able to partner with You in that way.

“However, I consider my life worth nothing to me; my only aim is to finish the race and complete the task the Lord Jesus has given me- the task of testifying to the
good news of God’s grace.” Acts 20:24
