Praise the LORD. Praise God in his sanctuary; praise him in his mighty heavens. Praise him for his acts of power; praise him for his surpassing greatness. Praise him with the sounding of the trumpet, praise him with the harp and lyre, praise him with timbrel and dancing, praise him with the strings and pipe, praise him with the clash of cymbals, praise him with resounding cymbals. Let everything that has breath praise the LORD. Praise the LORD.”
??Psalm? ?150:1-6? ?

I got to read these words to the ladies at the Matthew 25 house. The Matthew 25 house is an elderly care facility that provides 24/7 care and the love of Jesus and is one of the ministries that Supply and Multiply run here in Haiti. It’s my favorite place we go this month. This is not what I expected to happen because we also do kids clubs and go to a special needs orphanage as well. If you know me well you would guess those would be my favorite days of the week. But this month I have simply fallen in love with these precious ladies. Four are elderly and one is in her twenties but they have graciously taken her in because she is blind. You might remember me talking about D. That’s her. I love to see these ladies smile and the joy they exude is contagious. Many can’t walk or even go to the bathroom on their own but you can hear a number of amens and hallelujahs when we sing or tell a bible story.
It has been such a joy to watch D in particular. The first week she didn’t get out of bed. I sat by her prayed with and for her and sang to her the entire time we were there. Everyday I have prayed for God to heal her blindness. I believe he will.
After I read this psalm I told them about how David loved to sing to the Lord and even dance undignified in an effort to praise the Lord as much as he could. We made shakers with the ladies and then we sang and danced. It was a beautiful moment and I am sure God was smiling ear to ear watching those ladies go. I know I was. D had the biggest smile on her face and we couldn’t get her to stop singing. Not that we really wanted to anyway. She was still singing when we left. Before we left we prayed for the ladies and D told the group she wanted prayer for healing of her eyes. This is the first time she has ever made that request to the group. So we prayed for her as a group.
Leaving these ladies will be hard but I leave them knowing the Lord has worked and will continue to work here. I don’t know if I will see D healed. But I will continue to ask in faith because I know with certainty my God can do it.
This was such an amazing day! I hope you enjoy the pictures and continue to pray for these sweet ladies.
