This past month we have been working with college students. We have been meeting them at local coffee shops and having English club with them. This is a two hour class where we work on the students pronunciation and help with better vocabulary. The leaders of the English club are all Christian and encourage us to share the Gospel during club time. The leaders are so passionate and on fire for the Lord and always find the perfect moments to share the Gospel with the students. It has been such an honor working with these students and helping the practice English.
On Wednesday we were able to attend a Christmas performance that the students put on. Durning the performance they did a Christian skit to the song ‘Everything’ by Lifehouse. I have seen this skit so many times in the States, and have actually performed it once in my youth group. However, this time it touched me in such a different way. My heart was overwhelmed with how much the Father loves this place and how he so desperately desires a relationship with these people. He loves the people of Vietnam so much and His name is being shared even though it’s a “closed country”. It has been so amazing to see how God is moving throughout this country. I love seeing believers share their faith even though the government tells them not to because it is technically illegal.
After the service was over, nine people gave their lives to Christ. They made the decision to stand firm in their faith knowing that they are going against what society and the government says is right. How amazing is it that even in this “closed country” lives are being saved!? God is on the move in Vietnam. I am so sad to be leaving next week but so happy we got to work with these students and be a small part of what God is already doing in here.
