Pack your bags because here we go…. We woke up yesterday morning with big expectations to leave Atlanta and get on our way to India to do ministry in our first country. It was finally happening we were actually doing this thing, we were leaving today, stuff is about to get real. Well little did we all know the Lord had something different planned and although we didn’t exactly know what that fully entailed we trusted him and knew we would get to India in his perfect timing.

Alright, so fast forward a few hours, we were finally at the airport on the international side, we were gonna check our bags, get through security and head over to the terminal to hang out till we boarded the plane. Well about 2 hours later we got 50 people through check ins and security. Which is kind of a task with that many people, but we did it! So at this point we’re all kicking it in the terminal, some people are playing guitar, journaling, blogging and just doing whatever. Ya know just being the typical basic elephant pants, chaco wear christians we are. Me and a few others go to Starbucks and decide we’re gonna people watch, and see if we can see any weird things happening, let me just say I love people watching and making up stories about people’s lives. Also there are in fact people who love people watching as much as I do on my squad which is freaking great! After about 30ish minutes of that we decided we were gonna go chill with everyone, so we get back to the gate and within like 15 minutes of being at the gate, they announce that the plane has damage so were not flying out today. This seemed like a huge set back and we were immediately confused so we all put on our positive flexible attitudes and were ready to roll with whatever the airline had in store, they put us in a very nice hotel paid for our meals which was great one more day with A/C and hot showers. We’re racers now, so we’re not complaining about one extra day in America! Plus this couldn’t be counted as a set back we counted it as an opportunity to find people we could talk about Jesus with.

In this time, which seemed like a set back, I was quickly reminded in my quiet time this morning that this simply wasn’t true. This was an opportunity to press in to all of what God has for me, to disconnect and unplug even though we’re still in America, to not spend all of my time on social media and retelling my friends and families goodbye just one more time. Oddly, written on the wall of the hotel was, “Opportunity of a Lifetime”. God used this hotel to remind me that my race doesn’t start when I get to India, but right now. And of course the leadership at Adventures has said this probably 20 times, but it didn’t fully connect until this morning while I was sitting still in America drinking my coffee. Although I would love to be in India right now I’m so grateful that we got to experience this “set back”.

Now were about to board the plane and formally head to India! See ya later America!!!! PEACE

XOXO
