Note: I would love to picture you right now, reading this, with a cup of coffee in your hand. If you don’t have one, please bless yourself and go get one. Iced or Hot, Dark or Light. Go get caffeinated, then come back and read my blog!
Since being in Malaysia, my heart is so full of Jesus and also coffee. As you might know, I love to find new coffee shops. Before I left for the race, this became my weekend activity. I find it so satisfying to research where to go and thenfind the perfect aesthetically pleasing place. It’s even better when you just happen to come across a new find while out and about, wandering. As soon as my squad arrived here I started to look up places where I could sit, read and sip. And I literally couldn’t contain my excitement for the list I came upon.
One after the other. My next thought was would I have time to see them all. Probably not. Some coffee shop owners, just get it. They understand that the atmosphere is so important. Let’s be real, we have all seen those movies and tv show coffee shops that we wish existed in real life. Well they do. I went to a handful that blew away anything “central perk” would have to offer.
For me, going to coffee shops, finding that comfy chair or corner nook table is my happy place. I love to sit. I love to sip. I love to read my bible and soak up the Word of God. Especially while the amazing coffee I probably spent to muchon soaks into me. For awhile, I wondered where my happy place was? A wooded forest? NAH. A field of wildflowers? NOPE. My cozy bedroom? MAYBE…. But one thing so far that Asia has shown me is that my happy place is the cutest coffee shop I can find!
Coffee and Jesus are such a great combination. Both make for the best way to start my day! And with both, I literally am unstoppable. He fills my cup (Psalms 23:5). I never used to like coffee if I’m being completely honest. Not sure what was wrong with me. I used to think it was dark goop for grown ups. But then my eyes were open, or actually my taste buds were. There definitely is no turning back on my love for coffee, and definitely no turning back on my love for Jesus!
Here is one of my favorite coffee shop called “The Daily Fix” in Melaka.

much love,
