Faithful, you are,
Faithful forever you will be
Faithful, you are,
All your promises are yes and Amen
I will rest in your promises
My confidence is your faithfulness
I will rest in your promises
My confidence is your faithfulness
The words above are an excerpt from a song by Chris Tomlin titled, “Yes and Amen.” It is so beautifully written. If you have time take a little bit to look it up.
My team leader and friend from my upcoming Word Race adventure, Kayla Norwood, has these amazing story cards that she got from Northpoint Church online. The cards simply display beautiful pictures, full of story-telling possibility. When we received our teams at training camp, we were allowed to go with our teams into town and eat and just have team time. Kayla brought these cards and we found ourselves at an adorable little coffee shop in downtown Gainesville, GA, with all the cards displayed across the table. She then asked us to choose a card that best describes where we were right now in our lives and explain. The card I chose is below:

The original reason I chose this card is because I feel as though right now, God is blooming, growing, and shaping me into the person who he created me to be. After hearing a sermon yesterday on faithfulness, this card took on an entirely different meaning in my life.
In this picture, a beautiful flower is blooming. That flower does not depend on its own ability to bloom, but rather the ability of its roots to receive and harvest the nutrients needed for it to bloom. The flower would be nothing without the roots. The flower could not exist without the nutrients that the roots provide. Similar to this flower, I could not survive or bloom or thrive without being rooted in Jesus. His faithfulness does not depend on my ability. He is faithful through it all. Even when I run from him, he is faithful. Even when I am unfaithful, he is faithful. Just as the song says, ” I will rest in your promises, my confidence is your faithfulness.” So, I’m going to be the flower that rest in the promises of my root and rock Jesus, and I’m going to have confidence that HE IS FAITHFUL!
My faithfulness has grown each day as I am preparing to leave to go on this journey in my life. God has reassured me constantly while I prepare. He has shown me again and again that he is faithful and that his plan is so much bigger and better than we could ever imagine. I know he is going to continue to show his faithfulness, and much more throughout this journey and I am so glad I get to share that with y’all! Thank you all for taking the time to read my blog and always for having faith in me and supporting me at this time in my life. Please continue to pray for me.
Sincerely,
Gabbie
