Hello everyone! This will be my last blog before I am out in the field! The past week has been a whirlwind of reality setting in. From leaving Utah, to meeting up with my squad again, to actually being at launch, and now only being a few days away from flying out, the reality is hitting me more and more of what is about to happen. I am about to go out in abandon, and now I know who I will be doing it with!
Drum roll please……. May I introduce you to…….
Team Kainos!!

Kainos is a Greek word that translates to “new” and “fresh”, but it means a greater new than what was there before. It’s the word that Paul uses in 2 Corinthians 5:17 when he talks about is being a new creation. We know that this year in many ways the Lord will make us new, through hardship, through growth, through joy, and it will be a greater new!
I would like to take a minute and say a little something about each of my team members. First off, Ben Towne is our team leader! Click here to read his blog!
I don’t know Ben that well yet, but I’m sure I can muster up a few thoughts of what I have seen in him over this past week. Ben is full of adventure and abandon. He is not afraid to lead humbly and seek the Father for guidance. I am excited to get to know him deeper over the upcoming months and have his guidance and input over our team.
Now Aaron and Gina! Aaron and Gina are the only married couple on our squad, so it’s awesome to have them on our team! Click here to see their blog.
Aaron is a hilarious guy with a great heart and great musical talent. Hearing his and Gina’s story about their life and not being satisfied with the American dream(read their blogs to hear about it!) just shows me where their heart is. I’m looking forward to bonding with this brother as we journey together.
Gina is a very intentional person, and that’s something that I appreciate she is bringing to the team. So far I have seen Gina as a person who says “If it’s worth doing, it’s worth doing right!”. She is a planner and strives to do everything with excellence. And she also has fliddlin’ skills! I’m so excited for all of our worship times we will have together with all these musicians!
Next up Dyer! Click here to see her blog.
Dyer is a fiddle playing worship machine! She is so bubbly and outgoing that she lights up every room she walks into. I feel like Dyer has such a personality that she could bring anyone out of their shell. That is going to be invaluable to our team as we love the people we are around.
Last but definitely not least, Stephanie! Click here to see her blog.
Stephanie is one of the sweetest people I have ever met. She is calm and collected, but not afraid to speak up when she needs to. She has a humble heart and this gift of people feeling like they can talk to her about anything. I feel like her outlook on situations will be very valuable to our team because of her time growing up in Haiti.
I’m so excited to do life with this team as we enter the field! Please continue to pray. Pray that we can enter into authentic relationships with one another. That we could handle conflict Biblically. That we would encourage and affirm one another. That we would be honest, open, and vulnerable with one another. Also that we could have a vision to work toward as a team so we can be a force for the kingdom wherever we go.
