Okay let me clarify….

I’m coming home… IN 15 DAYS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

These past eight and a half months have been filled with pure craziness. I can’t even begin to recall all the amazing things that have happened so I am going to tell you one memory from each month.

MONTH 1- CAMBODIA

COKE BOTTLE

we have a different team time every single day. One of those team times is called free-for-all. We can do anything we want basically.

Our first free-for-all we went to the grocery store, Hang Chai Lee. We all got ice cream and some other treats. I got a bottle of coke and the lid wasn’t a twist off lid and we didn’t have a can opener. We ended up using a cement ledge. Broke a piece of the cement ledge. and finally opened the bottle 30 minutes later.

MONTH 2- CAMBODIA

BUGS and FISH

two of my teammates got attacked by bugs/fish on their birthday weekends

Ashley got bitten by a centipede in the middle of the night…..what a great way to start a bday

Drew got attacked by a piranha. We were at a river celebrating her birthday with our ministry host and when she was floating down the river got attacked…. she has a scar

MONTH 3-HONDURAS

MY BIRTHDAY!!!!!

My birthday was on Thanksgiving this year. so we had huge feast with insanely good foods and desserts. I also got a turkey piñata and a liar of coca cola!!!! (because I was addicted to it)

MONTH 4-HONDURAS

CHRISTMAS AND NEW YEARS

A couple of teammates surprised us with pj’s christmas eve and then the next morning we woke up had really good french toast and exchanged presents secret santa style!

For New Years we made  homemade Tamales and had chicken that we cut the heads off with a machete the night before….(i admit I was one of the few to do it…. I think I was the only girl.) We ate family style outside and then danced the night away.

MONTH 5- GUATEMALA

TEAM SOL!!!!!!!!

My current team came to be this month!!! Our first meal together consisted of taco bell and then ice cream or crepes. We all ended up getting sick that night.

MONTH 6- GUATEMALA

DRIFTWOOD SURFER

We spent a weekend at the beach for Lexi’s birthday! We stayed in a really weird hostel and I was burnt more than I thought possible but it was an amazing weekend!!!

(also I got to see my parents for a week and my sibs for a couple hours)

MONTH 7- ETHIOPIA

CRATER LAKE

We went to this lake with the supposed Arc of the covenant on an island in the middle of the lake. But after the lake we hiked and rode horses through a piece of land that looked like it came straight from the Hobbit.

MONTH 8- ETHIOPIA

MY BED GOT PEED ON

okay not a super great memory but my teammates find it hilarious.

My ministry host Gadisa, got this dog because he heard us talking about how we wanted a puppy. This puppy is the FARTHEST thing from being potty trained. One night I was working out in my room and the dog.. Reggie, walks up to my bed and squats. Reggie peed on my mattress, sleeping bag, and blanket…. I have to admit it took me a while to warm up to the dog again.

MONTH 9- ETHIOPIA

NO POWER PARTY

The power frequently goes out here. One night the power went out in the middle of us cooking dinner and we were left with no food. After it being out for around 30ish minutes we decided we were going to order pizza. The pizza was about 30 minutes late but thats Africa. Our team ate in the darkness of one of our rooms with our squad leader. You could say it was a headlamp light dinner instead of candle light. After we stuffed our faces we played a game called party lines…. It caused A LOT of laughter…. If any of you ever want to play when I get home I am all for it.

These are just a few of many many many memories…

I can’t wait to share them with you in person!!!!

See you in less than a 15 days America!!!

In other news I will only be in New Braunfels for 20 days before I leave again…. sad I know…

BUT… I got a spot on Summer Staff at Frontier Ranch. I will leave for camp the 23rd, spend a month there on Summer Staff, and then spend another month there with my family as an Assigned Team Kid.

I won’t be in New Braunfels a lot this summer but if you want to hang out in the time I am there lets do it! I’m always up for an adventure!!!
