If you read my last blog you know that I have a new team.  One of the first things we did as a team when we got to our new home was a prophecy circle.

Prophecies were something that took me a while to believe. I firmly believe in them now. I have been apart of three prophecy circles since training camp and I have gained something from each of them. A prophecy circle to clear some confusion up is when a group of people sits in a circle or room and listens to what God has to tell the person being prophesied over. You choose the person that will be prophesied over  by drawing a name. Nobody knows who was picked until the end. My team starts each time off with prayer and worship music then we all sit and receive what the Lord has for us. We always have some fun at the end and guess who the person picked was!

When my name was drawn, I had no clue it was me but I had a feeling the words from my team were for me.

The song playing in the background was about surrendering… how ironic thats my tattoo. Water was mentioned constantly and fish… yes like as in my middle name.

But the biggest thing that stood out to me was India… YES INDIA. My teammate Julia was saying that she saw me in a crowd of a million people and God’s hand reaching down and picking me out of the millions… WOW I KNOW RIGHT!!!! As soon as she said this I saw the shape of India pass my eyes. So I said it out loud and said “Have fun!”

I would not survive in India. Curry and I don’t get along and large amounts of people cause me to panic internally. So when I was talking to my main man Jesus about the country that I saw, I said “please don’t ask me to go to India… I will not survive.” He agreed with me pretty quickly… although if he asks me in the future to go there despite my concerns, I will. Next question for him was “Am I going to marry someone from India or from Indian descendent?” and his answer was no. The last thing I asked him was, ‘Am I going to adopt from India someday?” right as I asked this question I knew the answer without him having to tell me. YES!!!!

For those who know me or my family you know that adoption is a pretty big deal to us. Both my parents are adopted and so is my youngest brother Hall. (I’m still over the moon to be in his home country) I knew from the 2nd grade that I was going to adopt a kid…or multiple… but I always assumed from Guatemala, a country in Africa, or America. Never once have I considered India. My dream was to adopt from Ethiopia or Guatemala specially, but both have closed/banned foreign adoption. Guatemala did so many years ago and Ethiopia on January 10th 2018. The two places I desired to bring someone home from not an option anymore. Although who knows what the law will be like by the time I plan on adopting.

As of right now Jesus has put India and adoption on my heart and mind and even if those countries do open foreign adoption back up, I will adopt from the country Jesus showed me that night in Guatemala.
