In Battambang one of the main tourist attractions is the bamboo train!
You are probably thinking the same thing I did when it was first mentioned to me.
WHAT IN THE WORLD IS A BAMBOO TRAIN!?!?!
the bamboo consist of an old rail road and bamboo platforms…weird right?
This train allows many people to have an income. The train cost $5 USD…. totally worth it and once you get to the end there is a little village filled with shops that sell elephant pants, bracelets, shirts and many different things.
These people rely on the train to get an income. This is their lifeline. And it’s being taken away from them. The City is building a highway right through the middle of the train tracks. They are currently able to have people get off and walk to the next section. Once the construction of the highway is done there is no telling what will happen to the train.
