LIVE IN THE MOMENT.
It’s harder than you think. Why do should you focus on right now when there is an amazing future ahead.
THIS MOMENT USED TO BE THAT AMAZING FUTURE.

One of the first things I was told when I was accepted onto the race was don’t get caught up in fundraising, and planning. Don’t forget to live in the moment. I have found myself not taking that advice, and I regret it. My senior year has flown by and May 25th is closing in. I can only name two weekends off the top of my head where, I let go and completely lived in the moment. Those two weekends God worked through me in incredible ways.

I’m always waiting counting down to that next big moment, the new movie, or book. I currently have a countdown for graduation, training camp and launched saved on my phone. I am not living in the moment. I’m constantly in panic as I try to figure out what supplies I still need, my next fundraiser, and how my senior pictures will look.(they look great)

So to my fellow squad mates, any future world racers, or someone who is fundraising for anything big and somehow stumbles upon my blog this next part is for you. Live in the moment. You have been told by countless people that the money will come, AND IT DOES. Yes it takes a while for the money to come, and your constantly checking your email for donations, but it does come. SO LIVE IN THE MOMENT. God has huge plans for you and money won’t be the reason you don’t go. When you let go and let God, you are allowing him to work through you and show people that when you trust in him amazing things can happen.

I looked up verses about living life Matthew 6:31-34 popped up. But both the NIV and message are wonderful so I have added both.

“So do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them. But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.”
Matthew 6:31-34 NIV

30-33 “If God gives such attention to the appearance of wildflowers—most of which are never even seen—don’t you think he’ll attend to you, take pride in you, do his best for you? What I’m trying to do here is to get you to relax, to not be so preoccupied with getting, so you can respond to God’s giving. People who don’t know God and the way he works fuss over these things, but you know both God and how he works. Steep your life in God-reality, God-initiative, God-provisions. Don’t worry about missing out. You’ll find all your everyday human concerns will be met.34 “Give your entire attention to what God is doing right now, and don’t get worked up about what may or may not happen tomorrow. God will help you deal with whatever hard things come up when the time comes.”

Matthew 6:31-34 The Message (MSG)

Update on my World Race fundraising:

I leave for training camp July 6th. I am SO close to being fully fundraised. I have $1,000 to fundraise. (donation bar has not updated) BUT i have to pay for plane tickets to and from Atlanta,(so I can get to launch and eventually come home) my passport, supplies and for the small mini adventures I will go on next year. So I will still be fundraising. Prayers for me, my team, and the people we meet are always welcome.
