I was going to write about Christmas and traditions, but before I could start typing I felt as if I should be writing something else. I felt as if I should be writing about my squad. For those of you wondering what my squad is, they are the 54 other people on my route, and I have been getting to know them very well over the past 2 to 3 months.
Our squad is not yet full but is very close. So far we have around 35 people and there are only 2 guys. And every single person feels like family to me. I have been getting to know them over texting. The idea of getting to know people over text is kinda crazy but it’s worked pretty well.I have found an amazing community and life long friends because of the World Race. I am so grateful for them.
The conversations rarely stop. We talk about so much from our favorite tv shows to what we are struggling with. Prayer requests happen daily and it’s an amazing feeling knowing you have that many people praying over you or your friends. There are many bad jokes (they are horrible) and many wise quotes. Don’t Stop Believing has been typed many times, because who doesn’t love that song. Fundraising ideas have been shared and prayed over and tips on support letters too.
I am so grateful that these are the people I will be with next year. They will become a huge part of my life and it’s already hard to imagine life without them after we are done. I am so thankful that I have been put on this route because it has lead me to these amazing people. We all may be young but I know we are going to do great things next year. They are all such strong christians and I couldn’t imagine traveling the world with anyone else.
So if you would please keep me and my squad mates, everyones fundraising and the people we will meet in your prayers, I would be so grateful.
