Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday. And it’s not because my birthday is always that same week and because we don’t have school. (okay maybe that’s a little bit of the reason) It’s my favorite holiday because of all the memories we have made. Like playing insanely loud games, burning things in the fire pits and the family walks. Celebrating Thanksgiving before Christmas is very important to my dad and over time has become important to me too.

Why do people put up the lights, trees and decorations at the beginning of November? GIVE THANKS. Celebrate your family and your life. We live in a world where we take everything for granted. Our family, friends, the food on our tables and the houses we live in. Getting accepted into the World Race has really shown the light on every thing I have taken for granted in life.

Next year I will be with my new family that I will gain from my travels. I won’t even be having a thanksgiving meal or be burning things and playing insane games with all of my dads side of the family. And thats perfectly okay with me. I have lived an amazing life and wouldn’t change it for anything. The opportunity to give up my bed, my dog and seeing my family for nine months is a hard concept for me to grasp at times. But I know that they will all be there when I come back in May of 2018. I love my family and will miss them a lot, but this is a once in a lifetime experience. But i’m giving thanks for all I have and all the things that I will have and experience for years to come. Next year I will most likely be in Cambodia serving the people that will impact my life forever. (even if they don’t know they will)

I give thanks for my future world race experiences, for every donation I receive, every fundraiser that will be apart of my life the next few months, my world race team and squad,my family, my friends, my work crew family, my young life family, and every single person and experience that has shaped my life.

I GIVE THANKS FOR YOU!
