I MADE IT TO EUROPE!!!!!
AHHHHHH!!!
Can you tell I’m excited? I also love that I can say my first European country was ITALY. It was only for 10 hours but it still counts and it was the most amazing layover! We were able to see the Colosseum, Trevi Fountain, Spanish steps, and the Pantheon! Crazy that those things have been around before Christ was even born.
We have arrived in Albania now and are living in an apartment this month. Now when I say that, don’t think apartment like in America. This place is big enough for a single person or maybe a married couple. We are fitting 7 of us in there which I know will be cramped but fun! Thankfully we won’t be spending much time in there though because our ministry this month will be building relationships with the locals! Pretty much the best ministry in my opinion.
Our host is not able to reach the young people of the community well so he has asked us to come along side him and get to know the youth of Albania! This involves taking the people we meet out to coffee and lunch and getting to know them. Most people here do not want to hear about Jesus so he told us not to bring up Jesus right away but rather get to know people first and build a friendship with them.
Building relationships with locals is basically my favorite ministry so I am very excited. Unfortunately, this month requires a lot of money out of pocket for me as we were told to treat the friends we meet as much as possible. Our host also told us to hang out in coffee shops in order to meet people (how awesome is that?) BUT coffee costs money and is not in my food budget.
