Big prayers. Dangerous prayers.
That has been the theme of my Race so far. In Vietnam, my old team Kerux and I started praying dangerous prayers – the first one we prayed for was for 7 people to come to know Christ that month (one for each member of our team). We ended up seeing 5 people accept Christ that month.
That was an incredibly dangerous prayer because Vietnam is a closed country and we could have been kicked out if we were caught sharing about Jesus.
In Thailand with my new team, Warriors, I brought the idea to pray for 7 people to come to Christ – one for each member of our team again.
A big prayer. A dangerous prayer.
God is faithful. The next day we headed back to the drug rehab center we had spoken at last week. This time the YWAM students joined us! It was so much fun! We performed a skit, played a few games, sang songs in Thai and English, and gave a testimony.
We broke into different groups to have more 1 on 1 time with the men at the center. The YWAM students were incredibly helpful to have with us this time. They could talk to the men (because we don’t speak Thai which made it very difficult for our team) and were able to relate to them as well.
In our circles, the YWAM students shared their testimonies with the men and encouraged them to share their stories as well. Where had they come from, what had brought them here?
Our circle had two men from the drug center and both decided to accept Jesus as their Savior! I was blown away. Praise the Lord!! The YWAM students did an amazing job presenting the story of Jesus to them. I was so proud.

After we had finished, I found out that two more men had also accepted Jesus! AHHHHH celebration!! We were singing and praising God on our drive home.
Ok, God, four down, three to go.
The next day we went out with YWAM to evangelize at a street market. I spent the two hours handing out tracks and telling people “God loves you” in Thai. Not many conversations were had in my group of four but we definitely spread God’s love all over that market! One of the other groups that went out ended up telling three people about Jesus and two accepted Christ!!!
Not that these people are something I’m checking off of a list. These are amazing people whom God has brought into His Kingdom. They are His new children!
Today we went to the drug rehab center for our third and last time. YWAM took over this time and was in charge of the program and games, although we still had to throw in a dance and testimony. At the end, not ONE but TWO new brothers accepted Jesus. WOW.

God answered our prayers!!! Not only did He answer them but He EXCEEDED them.
I love when God does that. When you ask Him for something and you think you are praying a huge prayer that will be incredible if God answers it…and then He blows it out of the water.
ONE person accepting God would have been an amazing answer to pray. We prayed for SEVEN and God gave us EIGHT.
And it truly had nothing to do with us. The seed had been planted long before we got there. The YWAM students helped us water by translating for us. God touched each of the people’s hearts and drew them into His Kingdom.
7 NEW BROTHERS AND 1 NEW SISTER IN CHRIST.
Disclaimer: This does not happen all the time. Some Racers won’t see anyone come to Christ. And that is okay! That doesn’t mean God isn’t moving in the places that we go. I have been blessed to be on two different teams that are praying big prayers. And we will continue to pray big prayers for more and more people to accept Jesus as their Savior! Because THAT’S WHAT IT IS ALL ABOUT. Bringing more people to the Kingdom. I can’t wait to meet these 8 people in Heaven one day!
