I’m sitting on shores of the Atlantic in Morocco, in two days we will be at our final debrief, and in one week I will be on a plane making my way back to the States.
Where has this year gone?
Yes in some ways it feels like such along year, and I have found myself dreaming of sitting around the fireplace with my family drinking coffee, eating something sweet and just talking, being with each other and catching up on life.
It was one of those moments two weeks ago, as I was envisioning being back home, when my breath caught in my throat in panic, Wait, I was just there! This year can’t be gone that quick! Have I missed it? Have I not been fully there? Why do I feel like I blinked and it was gone?
I found myself grasping at things to make this last bit of time stretch out a little longer, or in some way be more real so that it won’t become a fading memory like the rest of the year is becoming…..
Time,
What is Time?
Those first few paragraphs were written about 6 weeks ago and I have now been back in Michigan since Thanksgiving, it truly is incredible how time moves on, there’s really nothing we can do about it.
You can’t hold it, you can’t skip it, yes some times it seems like time moves faster other times, it passes by slowly. But it won’t stand still.
Where am I getting at with this?
I am choosing to….
Live life fully present,
Fully alive, fully engaged!
Taking in every moment,
Not missing the present,
by wishing for the future
Time does move on,
The future becomes the present
The present becomes the past,
I choose to..
Fully embrace the present,
Let it influence me,
mold me, shape me.
And as it passes by
Leave me with lasting memories,
Beautiful memories,
The more I embrace the present
The more growth happens!
And so the time passes,
I am now in a few short days having to once again say goodbye to family and home, It’s bittersweet, I am super excited to go back on the field! Thrilled to get to be a part of another squad as they begin their ‘WR’ journey! Excited for the growth that will happen in my own life! Pumped for the opportunity to keep pouring out what Papa has poured in!
Thank you so much for everyone who has supported and is supporting me on this journey, whether it be in prayer or financially. It means a lot and I appreciate every one of you!
I was meaning to get this sent out before this late on New Year’s Eve, but I wanted to give you guys the opportunity to get a tax deductible donation in before the new year! Just click the orange donate button on the top right of this page and follow the steps!
Blessings to All of You as we begin 2018!!
Love, Elva
