Dear Future wife,
I may not know you fully yet, but I want you to know that I am praying for you and your soul. I am praying that the Lord would prepare me not only to be the man after his own heart, but a man that will lead you in Christ not just in word but in deed. I am praying to be the Ephesians 5 husband that you need.
Just know that you are beautiful, loved, cared for and wanted. You are NOT my lesser person, NO, you are my equal half, and we are becoming one flesh in the eyes of our creator. We do everything TOGETHER as one. Because of that, I want you to know some things about me.
First, I over think everything and I am easily emotional. I will replay every interaction in my head over and over again, to make sure that the person that said what they said was genuine, meant it, and truly care. I may do this with you quite often, so please bear with me. When I have grown attached to some one, I am clinging to that person for life, because I care about them, and desire to be a part of their life forever. I will be like this to you. When I go to give myself to you, I am giving 100% all of myself to you. There is no other person before you, and I am willing to be vulnerable to you and only you, because I know I am a gift meant for two: God first then you. You were and are worth the wait. I love talking about feelings and will do my best to communicate everything with you. Know that I have battled a porn addiction ad well as same sex attraction. It is by the redemptive work of Christ that transforms me. You were and are God’s gift to me.
Know also that I am scared. Scared of failing you, scared to lose you or that it won’t work out. Scared that our marriage will end up like the rest of what I have known: broken and divorced. I do not want that, divorce is not an option for me, so I pray that through the tough times we stick together in Christ and walk through it. I will take the vow seriously when it says for better or for worse.
Lastly, I pray that you are a woman after God’s own heart, who will follow him above all else. Know that I love you but God loves you more. I will always love you and will cherish you and honor you and respect you. I will wash over you with God’s word, and know that no matter what you matter because God made you, and again you are a gift to me.
Sincerely
Your outgoing, silly, loving, compassionate, Future Husband
