Hello friends and family! I made it safely to Ethiopia and all is well! I am going to just give a brief update on what life looks like now!
So we moved into a house with an Ethiopian man named Gadisa who runs his own ministry called Testimony. What he focuses on is getting street kids off the street by providing an education for them. He also provides food for them so they don’t go hungry and hosts them for holidays and on Saturday’s.
Along with the time we spend with the kids we go to a refugee camp during the weekdays. This has been one of my favorite ministries on the race so far. We aren’t aloud to tell them about Jesus or share our faith. Normally we just spend time sitting with them and playing games and singing songs with them. We go in the morning for a couple of hours then go home and eat lunch, then go back in the afternoon and spend a couple more house with them.
Being with them has brought me so much joy and even though they don’t have the same beliefs as us, I feel Jesus’ love through them so much. And getting here I struggled a lot with joy and homesickness so receiving their love helped me a lot with transitioning.
I don’t have a ton to share with you all at this point, but as things continue on I will keep you all updated!
Wifi is very hard to come by, so if things work out I will be getting wifi once a week and will have another blog for you all then! Thank you all for your patience, support, and love! I can’t wait to tell you all about everything!
