People of God,
In leu of the spread of the coronavirus, my organization has made the decision to call us all home. My time as a squad leader for Gap Y has come to an unexpected and abrupt end. As a result, I have been thrown into a whirlwind of change. My squad flew home on the earliest flight out of Costa Rica, a quick debrief took place, hasty goodbyes were spoken, and now I sit in the airport terminal in Atlanta about to board my flight home. My mind is spinning at every capacity. I am unsure what all just happened (honestly, this has been true since Spetember hahaha) and even more confused about what is supposed to come next.
But in the middle of how disoriented I am, the Lord reminded me of some sweet truths that I’d love to share with y’all. Organizations all around the US are doing the same things that AIM did- calling their missionaries home. Initially that can seem like a really disheartening thing, but a second, deeper look reveals the movement of the Lord’s Spirit: THOUSANDS of missionaries are coming BACK. God’s powerhouses from around the world will be in the SAME LOCATION. There’s a stirring in the atmosphere. He is at work doing something. I am expectant of America to catch the drift. I am expectant of REVIVIAL. For though the mountains tremble and the earth gives way, though corona crawls across the globe, though fears of financial troubles may cause sleepless nights, though families are isolating behind locked doors for the sake of staying healthy, our God is in control.
HE IS IN CONTROL.
And He cannot be shaken. He cannot be moved.
If we are His people, and we ARE, and His Spirit is in us, and it IS, than we cannot be moved either.
Listen, we bear the very essence of His being. The Master of the Universe, the one who drew up the blueprints for the heavens and the earth, who filled oceans with water, and coaxed life out of mounds of dirt has found His home within your heart. Because of that, just as He cannot be moved, we cannot be moved. Our God is not afraid. We won’t be either. Our God will not shrink back. We won’t either. Our God will not grow weary. We won’t either.
Our God will love with all that is within Him. So will we. He will speak in kindness and truth. So will we. He will fight back in power and might. So will we.
The war is not over, but spoiler alert, we have ALREADY WON.
So RISE, People of God. Rise, Children of the Most High. Rise, Heirs of His promise, Holders of His Inheritance.
Rise in faith.
Rise in love.
Rise in truth.
Rise in hope.
Our battle is not against flesh and blood. It is FOR flesh and blood. Find the strength of His Spirit deep within you, bend your knee before the throne, and ask your kind King what action He is calling you to.
And then dive. Dive deep into scripture, deep into intercession. Listen, we’ve got endless hours at home and nothing we could do will be as important as prayer. Because when we pray, strongholds are torn down, walls come sailing to the ground, and our God hears and ANSWERS. Dive deep into His commandments, into His promises, into His comfort and His hope.
Now is not a time for fear. It’s a time to fight, with faith, to showcase the hope that is knit into the core of our beings because there the King of Kings resides.
Let us not give up meeting together, as a body of believers, even if it is virtual. Let us encourage each other daily, as long as it is called today. Let us spend more time on our knees praying instead of worrying. And let us make time in the word, time with our Lord, our main priority. Because He is our hope, our refuge and strength.
He is our joy.

Thanks for reading 🙂

Diana

Though I am coming home, I will be self-quarantining for a few weeks for the sake of making sure I do not spread the virus in the off chance I have it. I will not be super responsive to my phone, as the Lord and I are about to do some work, lol. However, know that I love you all and I’ll see you when it is healthy for me to do so!
