Please enjoy this little poem and highlight video of my time here in Nepal 🙂

Nepal is the dog on the sidewalk that gives me a stare,

The occasional cockroach that causes me scare,

An eight mile walk every day to keep wholesome,

An odd shaped fruit that tastes like apple infused pear.

Nepal is riding maximum capacity in a bus all packed,

Vendors on the street, persuading with eye contact,

Traveler’s diarrhea and a stomach that craves a tum,

Clothes hanging to dry on the roof when we finally act.

Nepal is breathtaking curvy mountains and clingy dust,

Rationing water causing toilets to mold and rust,

Stars that encourage us to solve every problem,

And a God who calls me every day to trust.

Nepal is letting girls do make-up and be their age,

And sitting with them in the middle of their cage.

Or holding VBS for kiddos whose life is the slum,

For the hour we came to make the darkness assuage.

I’ve fallen in love with this beautiful place,

With worship, and quiet time, and coffee shop space,

And each morning I wake up so glad to have come

For to see God’s creation is to look on His face.
