So I wrote my best friend notes each day while we were at camp, but I decided to also adapt them as letters to God to share with you! Here is a glimpse of what camp looked like our first few days in Zimbabwe!

Thursday-March 29
I woke up after waiting 10 hours at the Zimbabwe South Africa border to endless sky. I’ve never seen such beautiful rain, sunshine, clouds, and sun. I couldn’t help but think of You watching the rain clouds against the sunset in the distance. Is this what you saw when You created here? Did you experience the awe of the Zimbabwean sky? Do You tune in each morning and night and watch Your artwork?
Friday- march 30
We drove into the Matabo park today. It was gorgeous. Stones are piled on top of each other all around creating beautiful sculptures. Burros are everywhere. Literally. We are working at a youth camp this weekend. I ate pap with my hands. I’m sharing a room with middle and high school girls. I claimed a top bunk, and have settled in to rest today before a 17 hour day tomorrow.
March 31- Saturday
We went canoeing on a marsh behind our cabin this afternoon with the kids. You would have loved it. Before I got in the boat all the girls were playing with my hair, completely amazed it’s all mine. Haha. The people here are the most beautiful part of this country. Tonight we served the kids a “fancy dinner”. We had no idea it was happening. I wasn’t in jeans, a tank top, borrowed tennis shoes, and a denim button up. I’ve never felt so under dressed in my life! I was escorting guys in suits!
?
The girls had formal dresses and heels on, and the guys had on full suits. It was so cool to serve them though. They aren’t used to that at all.
April 1- Easter Sunday
Wow. My first of many Easters overseas. And I wasn’t even in church. We are still at camp, leaving today. We had a small service, and one of the leaders spoke to the kids about what to do with the knowledge they had learned this week at camp. To find who they are in Christ, and to discover their purpose. I’m not used to the yelling, but he had a good message. Especially to the kids at that age. The bus ride home was crazy, more than once I thought the bus would tip over. But the Lord kept us grounded.
