Update:
Life’s been a little crazy sense I last posted a blog. I’ll start here saying I flew to Uganda and served there for two months. In that time, I was in one of my best friend’s wedding. I served at a kids camp, which held a wide range of ages. The children’s ages started at three all the way up to high school level. I was able to speak about purity/protecting your heart with the young female high school students. I had the opportunity and privilege to serve in an orphanage a few times while I was there. I spoke at a few churches and made some great friendships. I got close with my host family and played with my new little sisters I lived with. My host’s daughters got to pick up some English and in return I learned some Luganda as well.
My time in Uganda was a very growing experience. I’m so happy I was able to have the opportunity to serve in this country. Though I did struggle with my fair share of sickness, with lots of prayer and discernment from the Lord I have decided to take a small break to recover. Not only to recover but to help my family prepare for my sister’s new baby. “The bun”, should be coming out of the oven sometime next week. Which by me being home it allows both of my excited parents to head down to Texas together to support this new mommy as she navigates her new motherhood. I have no doubt in mind, she is going to be a great mother and I’m beyond excited to see my first nephew.
I was able to spend the week with her. After flying from Uganda, I came straight into Texas to check on her before flying home into Michigan. I’m happy to report, baby is healthy and I was able to see him at one of the ultrasound appointments. In addition, I was able to meet up with several friend down there. Including one of my old squamate’s from R-squad and my roommate I briefly lived with in Uganda.
Now being back I feel so blessed to be home. I’ve missed America dearly. I will be home till November 26th, then I head back to Uganda for D-squads final debrief. This will be a time to hear my team/squad’s personal Testimonies as well as help them transition back to the States as smoothly as possible. I will be gone roughly around 7 days and then I plan on be back State side for a good while.
Currently:
I’m sick again but this time it only a cold. I’m living with my parents and helping them watch my nieces/house sit while they are in Texas. I’m also just taking it day by day with my health and building my strength back. Please keep me in your prayers for healing especially over repairing my immune system. Thank you for all of you who have reached out over my time in Uganda. Thank you for the continuous support and prayers. I’m beyond blessed to be surrounded by friends, family, and a church body like you. All glory to God and many blessings!
