Hello world! Just a quick update for you all here on the blog!
For those of you all that don’t follow my social media, I moved to Georgia a few months ago, I am now apart of a ministry for the time being, and my life has been a whirlwind! Please, keep reading to hear all about it.
COMING HOME…
Coming back home from the field this time around was very difficult. We were ripped from the field six months early and it took me a while to process what that felt like and how that impacted me. Coming home during Covid was stressful and hard and very taxing on my mind and my body. Everything that was already hard coming off the field was doubled by the lack of knowledge about that I thought would be normal to me. What I thought would be normal in coming home was actually the exact thing that was completely different. Before coming back to the states I felt like I was doing the work of the Lord on the mission field and then when the Lord sent us all home I had to find his new purpose for me in the here and now. It kind of felt like I was put on a different missionary assignment that I never expected, and didn’t want at the time. It was stressful, hard, exhausting, and overwhelming. It was a joy inspite of it all to come home and to find the Lord in my family, my friends, and in beginning a new relationship that he blessed me with. I entered into a new relationship that I’m sure many of you guys are aware of from social media and we actually are engaged now and planning a wedding. YAYYYYY!!!!!
We met on the mission field as I was squad leading and it was a joy to be able to learn him as a friend then love him as a friend, and then learn him in a romantic way then love him in a romantic way and now pursuing marriage together. It’s a story that I will never forget and will always cherish.
I was thankful for time in quarantine upon coming home with my family and with my friends that I have not gotten in a very long time. I saw the Lord’s favor in that.
Upon coming home I desired a lot of different things. I desired to make a YouTube channel and to debrief my time on the field through different blogs and lots of other ways to share what the Lord has done… But I realized that it was actually a lot harder than it seemed given the circumstances and I needed to take quite a bit of time to actually take a breath, feel the Lord, and ask him first where he was needing me to meet him. (Sooooooo… keep your eyes peeled for some fun things coming soon tehehehe)
I see what the Lord has done and I see where he’s leading me now and it’s a joy to say that I moved to Georgia a few months ago for the time being and upon coming to Georgia I was presented the opportunity to work with the same Leadership Discipleship School that I attended two years ago.
YOU SAID YOU STARTED IN A NEW MINISTRY… WHAT IS YOUR CURRENT MINISTRY???
CGA or Center For Global Action is essentially a five month program that is geared towards making leaders in the kingdom of God! We dive into the Bible, into lots of different topics pertaining to identity, leadership, discipleship, healing, etc. It is a very collaborative and fun learning atmosphere with lots of discussions and good conversation. It has been fun to get to use the gifting‘s that I feel like the Lord has given me. I am very passionate about discipleship and I think it’s very important to first make sure that you are pursuing being a disciple of the Lord before you start teaching other people how to be a disciple and inviting them into that and I think that this program does a very good job of walking people through that process. I have loved getting to pour out in this season and I have loved getting to learn and grow with them. The program ends in December and then they will all go their separate ways for the Lord!!
WHERE DO YOU LIVE??
I currently live with some of the female participants that I am leading and it’s been a joy to be able to be in their space, to be able to do life with them, and to be able to live amongst them. I love fellowship. I love living in community and I love being able to share life with people that are pursuing their own walks with the Lord as I’m pursuing my walk with the Lord as well. I love being able to talk about the Lord and share in what they are learning in class and to be able to be in the struggle and in the wrestle and in the learning with them… not just in the classroom when I am teaching!
WHAT DO YOU DO FOR CGA? IS THAT YOUR ONLY JOB?
No, I work with CGA 9-5 on Mondays and then 9-noon Tuesday through Friday. I was in my later afternoons working at a chiropractor clinic, but it didn’t work out in my schedule and in this season, and so I have moved on to now serve at an AMAZING restaurant (hello HARVEST!) Friday and Saturday nights to be able to have some income coming in because I am not getting paid for CGA. Working there has also become a beautiful ministry too.
(Before I explain what I do for CGA more, I wanted to make notice the donation bar at the top of the page and answer a question you may have.. I am accepting donations for my work with CGA but I am not on a fundraising kick because in this season I am able to work a few hours outside my commitments with CGA to earn a partial income. If the Lord guides you to donate it would be a huge blessing I would put towards the ministry in CGA and my ministry future.)
My duties with CGA are essentially planning teachings, helping with curriculum, teaching, being in the participants spaces, loving on them, and being in the atmosphere of the classroom ready to share what the Lord has put on my heart at any given moment. Since I’ve done the program before and the main leaders over the program have not it is a blessing to have people in the leadership team that have experienced the course before to able to share a perspective that is able to benefit the team, and essentially that is a large part of my role.
WHATS NEXT? WHATS IN THE FUTURE LONGER TERM?
I am excited to see what the Lord places before me as I continue to pursue him and lean into where he’s leading me. Me and my fiancé plan to eventually plant ourselves on the mission field abroad. We see ourselves raising a family, building a base, and creating culture for the Lord in a place that doesn’t have him currently. We both have a heart for Spanish-speaking culture and we have some very specific countries in mind that we are looking at while also trying to keep our arms open, our eyes open, and our hands open to where the Lord places us and where he guides our hearts in this process of planning our future together. We both are very passionate about discipleship. He is very passionate about male discipleship and creating men after Gods own heart, and I am passionate about woman discipleship and tending to the stories women have that get to change culture for the kingdom. We both have very strong desires to raise a family and take in children that are not our own to make them our own and to invite them into a family that loves them. We both have passions outside the ones listed but it’s exciting to see how our passions and desires from the Lord have woven together so seamlessly.
We plan to settle for a few years in the states just to create a super super healthy beginning and foundation to our marriage before we set off. I see the Lord’s favor in bringing us together and in the dreams the Lord has giving us separately that we’ve gotten to build and mash in our relationship so far. It’s a blessing to look at my fiancé and to see a partner that the Lord has given me to partner in where I feel the Lord is leading me and that is something I can’t really put into words. I’m very thankful to be able to get married soon and to have a partner that I love so deeply, and so deeply cherish that gets to walk through all the next journeys with me in ministry, in life, in the mundane, and in all.
OKAY COOL, WHATS NEXT FOR THE RIGHT NOW?
Right now i am taking life day by day in my ministry role currently and pursuing a marriage that is quickly approaching. We are prayerfully considering the future that the Lord has for us both and making careful choices of what to say yes and no to right now to be able to pursue it with all our hearts. In ministry, and in all facets of our future. We are praying into a move coming up soon before we get married to have a place to settle and land for the time being as we begin a marriage. I am thanking the Lord every day for the ministry he’s given me right now with CGA, all opportunities his has placed before me for work, the dreams that he’s letting my fiancé and I weave together as a couple, and for his favor in it all.
