17 things I learned from 2017:
1. God is faithful to us when we trust
2. God blesses all of his beloved children in different ways
3. God wants me to sacrifice more
4. God wants me to surrender more
5. Don’t believe everything you read or hear
6. Following your dreams is hard but not impossible
7. It’s okay not to be okay
8. Living in constant community is literally the funniest and most fun thing I have ever experienced
9. Finding joy in the journey is actually a thing and needs to be my mindset
10. I need God to be in the driver seat
11. God is a protector
12. REST IS IMPORTANT
13. God gives us all different desires and paths and that’s okay
14. God has given me a spontaneous and passionate spirit and he wants me to pursue that
15. I can’t do everything on my own
16. God wants me to purse my love for travel and love for all the nations even more than I have already
17. I am so blessed in literally every way
So far this year I have left home for the first time, traveled to 5 countries and still counting, lived in community, pursued my dreams, met people that have changed my life, found out what God wants for my life in the short future, overcome anxiety, had to surrender, seen poverty, lived in poverty, preached to hundreds of people, jumped off of the Victoria Falls bridge, cliff jumped in Nepal, held countless babies, got tatted, taught English in a Buddhist preschool, and SO MUCH MORE.
I have grown as a person. I have grown in my faith. I HAVE BLOOMED.
I have experienced joy. I have experienced heartache. I HAVE BLOOMED.
My word for this year coming on the race was BLOOM and it’s the word that really summarizes the year I have just overcome.
I can’t wait to see where God will take me in 2018. I have already been on the craziest journey and I still have over half my race to go. This has been the best year of my life and I feel God telling me it’s only going to keep getting better.
I finished my senior year of highschool. I left to travel the world. I am traveling the world. And God is still planting a path for me to keep following.
