“The Lord ’S teachings are perfect. They give strength to his people. The Lord ’S rules can be trusted. They help even the foolish become wise. The Lord ’S laws are right. They make people happy. The Lord ’S commands are good. They show people the right way to live.”
Psalms 19:7-8 ERV
Hello friends and family I am currently sitting at my daycare as my cute little kiddos nap and I felt called to write this blog. These verses are easy to read if you don’t make yourself go deep or allow the words to sink in. More often than not when we read short bursts of scripture we read to complete rather than read to digest. As I prepare for these next upcoming 9 months on the missions field, I am really pushing myself to dive deeper into scripture and let the words cut deep.
“The Lord ’S teachings are perfect. They give strength to his people.”
Do we honestly believe this? Or does it just sound nice? The Lords teachings are PERFECT. It gives STRENGTH to HIS people. As we go about our daily lives do we actually think the Lords teachings are always perfect and can provide us the strength we need for the problems we will face, have faced, or are facing? We are HIS people. Do we live our lives with the mindset of being Gods beloved child? Or is it something we so commonly overlook?
“The Lord ’S rules can be trusted. They help even the foolish become wise.”
How often have you read a piece of scripture and without even intentionally meaning too, just discarded the verse or passage because it didn’t “apply to you” or it “didn’t make since”? The Lords rules and words and scriptures can be TRUSTED. Store them in your heart and remember the truth and power it holds. The Lords rules help the foolish become wise… do we believe that? Do we believe that Gods grace and words can actually mend those broken or foolish relationships or situations?
“The Lord ’S laws are right. They make people happy.”
This one cuts deep. Gods words, laws, scriptures, and truths are RIGHT. God doesn’t just say things to waste his breath, his laws are RIGHT. Do they make you happy? Are you happy that Gods laws are right? Have you ever taken the time to evaluate where your heart is in that area?
“The Lord ’S commands are good. They show people the right way to live.”
Do we believe this too? I’m sure everyone has heard the phrase “God is good all the time and all the time God is good”. It’s a fun phrase to repeat back and forth in church but has it sunken into our hearts or is it just something we say? Do we believe Gods commands show us the right way to live? Do we live by the standards God has for us or the standards the World has for us?
Easily this morning I could have read those short simple verses with no emotion or cares and then prayed a simple quick prayer and bounced out the door to work… but today I decided to be intentional and try to really soak in and digest the short passage. I really felt God breaking apart these verses and showing me the areas I can be working on.
As God pushes me to start growing even deeper in my faith and realtionshop with him leading up to the World Race and while on the World Race, I want to push you all to join me. I want to challenge you all the rest of this week to really take time to set apart and read Gods word everyday and push yourself to soak in the words. Wether it’s one verse or a whole book. God will bless that time and intentional mindset.
I am already in the process of writing a blog more geared towards the World Race and what I’m facing next in this journey leading up to launch in ONE MONTH… woah… so keep an eye out for that!! And I plan to upload a new YouTube channel soon so go subscribe to my channel if you haven’t already (https://www.youtube.com/user/cupcakecrj)!
I will be posting videos and blogging from here while on the race so you might as well subscribe to BOTH :))))))
Have a wonderful day.
Love you all 🙂
