“Is this real life?”
After 4 months of being on the race, you start to realize that this is life now. You’ve given up everything to go on this wild ride filled with new adventures and thrilling new sites and out of nowhere… it hits you.
You miss home.
I’m definitely not ready to come back (sorry mom and dad) but frankly there are some things I miss about home.
So I thought I’d make a list of those things below:
- Mom and dad <3
- My family and friends
- Sunday dinners at my best friend’s house aka “Michelle’s kitchen table.”
- My nieces and nephews (including all my friend’s babies)
- Chipotle!!! (I haven’t found one out here yet)
- Charlotte Russe – working there, the clothes and my fabulous girls! Store 437 I miss you all!
- My prayer closet aka “My War Room”
- My actual closet – I have to be honest,I miss some of my clothes and shoes. The race has taught me how to coordinate my outfits with the limited amount of clothes I have. I can say I have become a minimalist!
- My bed – oh sweet Jesus, I miss it so much!
- Driving – never thought I’d miss that
- Searchlight church (my 2nd family)- I think about you all so much and can’t wait to see you in November
- Puerto Rican food – the food out here has been pretty good, but nothing compares to a “pastelillo.” Google it my friends; it will change your life.
- Spending time with my abuelita’s – my hearts <3
- Movie nights – which includes pajamas, a lot of pizza and endless bowls of ice cream
- The Jersey Shore – this summer won’t be the same without you!
All this to say, that God has been doing some incredible things with me and my team. We have gone through some ups and downs but that’s normal. I have enjoyed every moment of it so far (even the challenging parts). I have never felt so aligned with God’s will until I made the decision to say yes. It’s been truly amazing!
Thank you all for your prayer’s and support.
