Just a few short months ago, I graduated with my Bachelor of Science in Environmental Science and Management from the University of California, Davis. I have loved the opportunity to spend the last four years studying and researching the earth—God’s magnificent creation. God has placed the calling on my heart to run from the ordinary and follow Him across the world. Over the past 22 years, He has done so much for me. He brought the right people into my life to encourage me when I was at my lowest points, He loved me before I could even love myself, and He has provided for me through every circumstance I’ve faced. Now, He has called me to serve people in need all over the world with the same love and care He has shown me.
I am excited to share the next opportunity God has opened for me. The World Race is an 11-month Christian mission trip to 11 countries around the world to serve “the least of these” (Matthew 25:40). This program is a part of Adventures in Missions, a long-standing, interdenominational ministry that has sent out over 100,000 people on short-term missions since 1989. It is not only a mission trip, but an intensive discipleship program designed to launch young people into their calling. Through the World Race, my team of 55 young adults will serve in partnership with churches and ministries in local communities to share the Gospel, work in orphanages, plant churches, minister to women trapped in human trafficking, and bring the restorative hope of the Father’s love to many nations.
I am so grateful and ecstatic for this opportunity God has placed on my heart. I want my life to reflect that of Jesus—to go into the world and spread joy to the hopeless, pray for the sick, and live in authentic community with myself and fellow inhabitants of this world. My team and I will be departing in early January 2017 to travel to Mozambique, Swaziland, Madagascar, Mongolia, China, Myanmar (Burma), India, Nepal, Costa Rica, Nicaragua, and El Salvador.
As I prepare for my departure, I face many challenges, the greatest of which being financial support. All World Race participants are required to fundraise financial support. In order to fund all field expenses for this 11-month trip, I need to raise $17,417. In addition, I must purchase backpacking gear, medicine, vaccines, and travel insurance, to name a few items.
As I take this large step of faith in trusting the Lord, would you prayerfully consider helping my journey? I am looking for friends to assist in monthly giving, referrals of others to speak to, encouragement, prayers, and gifts. While this amount of money may seem overwhelming, God has called me to this ministry and is having me trust him more by relying on Him for financial support. By supporting my call, you are doing something significant for the kingdom of God. I am praying He will place on your heart the best way for you to support me and I am excited to see how God will work and be glorified in the process.
I deeply appreciate any support you can offer. I would not be at this point in my life without your love, prayers, and support! I am always available to answer any questions you may have, or just to catch up on life, so please don’t hesitate to call or email me! To follow my journey and see how your donations are blessing people all over the world, please subscribe to my blog and keep checking my Facebook page! I hope to hear from you soon.
God Bless,
Brittney
