It is only day four in Lesotho and I have already fallen in love.
We are two hours away from the city. Our electricity is solar power, our bathroom is a long drop toilet, and our water supply is limited. My words and pictures cannot adequately describe the mountains, sunrises, sunsets, stars, rainbows, and lightening storms we have seen. God is truly the best artist!
And the people here, wow, I love them so much! I have been encouraged and challenged by the ministry staff. They have helped me sharpen my spiritual gifts of healing and discernment. I have learned to sing and dance loud and proud!
For ministry, we walk an hour to a village down the mountain. The kids take us by hand and led us to different huts. The first day we were there my group visited two huts and I want to share about our first visit.
An older couple lived there. We asked if we could help with anything. There wasn’t a lot to help with, but we tilled the garden and swept the house. As the lady was talking to the translator, I asked God if there was anything He wanted to tell her. That was when God gave me a vision of an elephant. She was the elephant, someone who is strong and walks in authority, but she is afraid of something small. Just like how elephants are scared of mice. God wanted the “mice” gone in her life because they were not from Him but from Satan. He wanted us to pray of the mice.
With a step of obedience, I humbly tested what God had spoken through the vision. Through the translator, I was able to explain the vision God gave me to this lady. And as I was telling the translator this, she was smiling the whole time, I didn’t know why until she explained something to me.
The lady is the head of the church committee we are doing ministry with this month. And when she was talking to her, when I asked God if He wanted to say anything to her, she told her she decided to step down from that role. She hadn’t told the church yet, but the people were making her job difficult. She was afraid of the congregation.
Now I understood why the translator was smiling. The vision God gave me aligned perfectly with what the lady was going through and I knew nothing about it. I couldn’t believe my ears! Wow, God is so good!
We prayed over her and when our translator prayer for her, she wept. It was a beautiful, raw moment to witness.
She is still going to step down from her position in the church, but she will not be leaving the church because God has called her to be the intercessor of the church. And that is what she will do with a joyful heart!
We have plans to sit next to each other in church this coming Sunday. She told me she can sing boldly and will teach me how to do the same. I’m so excited!
And that is my story. Thank you for reading! I know this month is going to be filled with incredible testimonies of God’s goodness and I hope to share some stories with you all. So stay tuned to my upcoming blogs and please check out my teammates blogs too.
In conclusion, I want to encourage boldness and humbleness to test what God speaks or shows you. I know it’s uncomfortable, but He will reward your obedience.
