I am continually amazed at how, and when, God makes divine connections in my life. Today He did it again. God showed up and showed off!
To fully describe the connection God did today, I have to take you back to Romania. One morning I went through an inner healing and towards the end of the session the Lord gave me a vision- a clear but empty wine glass. In the moment I didn’t know what it meant. It was so strange. I didn’t understand why I would see a wine glass when I closed my eyes.
So I spent time with my Heavenly Father to ask Him to reveal the meaning of this specific vision. And He did! He told me that I am that empty but clear wine glass, and Jesus’ blood was the wine. The wine was in the wine glass (Jesus’ blood was covering me), but the wine glass is clear now (Jesus paid the full and ultimate price for my sins). I had the desire to fill the wine glass with wine because I continue to sin. However, God told me that I don’t need to refill the wine glass (cover myself with Jesus’ blood), because His sacrifice of His Son was enough to cover all of my sin. In other words, He does not need to sacrifice Jesus again because the power of His blood and body does not decrease as time goes. His power is limitless. He is enough.
Now, fast forward to today. We, my translator and two teammates, walked around the University campus. The translator wanted to first show us the temple before we started evangelizing. At first I was impatient as he explained the background of Thai religion because I just wanted to find students and talk with them about Jesus. However, with a nudge from the Holy Spirit I pressed into the conversation because He had me here for a purpose. That was when the translator explained the significance of the Strawberry Fanta sacrifice a student made to this god. This was when I realized the connection God was making to my inner healing vision about the empty but clear wine glass to the Strawberry Fanta sacrifice!
In other religions people sacrifice their own blood. Some take it literally (I saw this in Ecuador) and some sacrifice drinks that are dyed red (Strawberry Fanta). They know that they have disobeyed the laws of their religion or they want to take steps to gain favor, and they make a sacrifice.
But, because I have a relationship with God and because He loves me so much, I don’t need to nor do I have to make a sacrifice. God took it upon Himself to cleanse me from my sin. He sent His precious Son to Earth to die on a cross for my sin. I am a clear wine glass. It has been filled with Jesus’ blood and Jesus’ blood is enough. I don’t need to refill my glass with wine, I don’t need to make multiple blood/Strawberry Fanta sacrifices.
Let me say it again- We do not need to make sacrifices because the sacrifice has already been done. It was done when God sacrificed His Son, Jesus, on the cross to die for all of our sins!
