Nepal
This month was filled with tons of emotions, and I’m going to try to fill you in on anything and everything that happened this month.
First off, we got split into 2 teams this month, my team and another team called Aslan’s Army. We were put into a ministry called “High Adventures Ministry”. Our ministry is exactly what it sounds like, full of high adventure!
Our ministry host was so amazing and filled with joy. His name was Deepak, but he told us to call him “Tupac”. We stayed in his home for the first week and did ministry around the Kathmandu area. We went to an elderly home and prayed for them along as sat and hung out with them. We went to a Leprosy colony and got to hear some of there stories along as pray for them. And several other things, but the thing that stuck out the most in the first week was how much we interceded on behalf of the Kathmandu area and the people.
Several times throughout the week we would go to monasteries, or other Hindu worship places. We would walk around and intercede for the people that were there worshipping these other Gods just a few steps away from us. One instance I remember very well was walking around this monastery and going into a prayer place and hearing them say all these prayers to so many Gods and I felt so much darkness during that, but also a light that God is going to somehow break into their hearts and reveal himself.
After the first week of ministry, we hopped on a bus for 13 hours and went to a far out village called Chitwan. It was right on the India border. There, we spent 4 days hiking out to villages with most of the people never hearing the name of Jesus. We got the opportunity to share the good news of Jesus and plant seeds where seeds had not been planted.
During that week, we also met the oldest woman in Nepal, being the age of 110. It was pretty sad because they treated her almost as an exhibit and I don’t think she really had any idea what was going on.
After Chitwan, we came back to Kathmandu, and that day happened to fall on my 19th birthday! We went out to Thamel, which is a pretty nice part of Kathmandu with restaurants and shops everywhere. I eat so much food that day that my stomach hurt for at least 2 more days after that. It was different being away from friends and family on my birthday but it was a lot of fun being with my team here.
The very next day, we caught another bus ride to the Himalayas! We went on a 3 day trek through a little part of the Himalayan mountains and got to see one of the coolest things I’ve ever seen. Gods creation amazes me every single day. The first night of that trek happened to be Halloween and I absolutely love Halloween! But, we ended up hiking in the dark while it was pouring down rain for about 2 hours, which was an experience of its own.
In those 3 days, we hiked around 25-30 miles and my calves grew about an inch, at least I like to say that. After the trek, we went to the most beautiful city in Nepal, Pokhara! There we went paddle boating and stayed in a nicer hotel with beds!!
It was a roller coaster of a month, but God taught me so many things.
I am currently in the Ethiopian airport waiting for my next plane ride. Yes, that means I am in AFRICA!! I can’t contain my excitement for this country and what is in store. With that being said, I still have a ways to go on fundraising. My deadline to be fully funded is coming up very quickly, and I still lack around $4,000. I ask that you pray about joining me in that area along with praying for me and my team.
I have several tshirts that I need to sell! Contact my mom for more info! 8067837350
They are $20 and I have several sizes!
Not sure how wifi will be next month, so stay tuned for my next post! Hopefully it will be soon.
Also, if there are certain things you want me to blog about, send it in the comments!
